The Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association hosted a pancake breakfast at the CCCIA Hall on Highway 72 on Saturday, May 15 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. to raise funds for scholarships. About 80 people attended the event and the room was crowded.
For a breakfast of fluffy pancakes, syrup, sausage, orange juice, and coffee, CCCIA members paid $8 and nonmembers paid $10. Ashley Roberts and Suzanne Bates sat at the desk as people came in. Roberts has been involved with the CCCIA since 2015.
Bruce Goodwin helped in the kitchen, as he usually did, along with Kyle West and Suzy Schemel.
Shelly Peters Schaller offered chair massages. She works out of her home and does all massages including full-body and massages for animals. Schaller works out of her home at Gross Dam Road and Tunnel 19. She can be reached at 303-503-6068.
The Wigand family, with Mother Kay, sons James and Kaleb, and daughter Athalia served those coming in for their breakfast.
Jody Dickson attended. She is with Saws and Slaws. They hope to plan an event with Team Rubicon, a veteran’s group, for fire mitigation in August.
The Coal Creek Canyon July 4 events will start with a pancake breakfast at the hall from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a parade at 10 a.m.
