I am writing to support Joe Self as our next Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder. The position of Clerk and Recorder is one of the most difficult positions within our country. Thanks to the Trump era of seeding doubt and campaigning outright for fraudulent ways to handle elections, many people are shying away from this particular work. 

Joe Self is currently our county’s Deputy Clerk & Recorder, assisting in our elections as well as in the motor vehicle department. Both of these departments receive more than their share of people complaining about voting, vehicle registrations, fees, and making appointments for service.

Joe Self has presented a strong yet respectful presence in these situations. When our residents come to the Clerk and Recorder’s office, they are greeted by friendly faces and great customer service. Joe has extensive experience as a manager and understands the importance of valuing the workplace team.

Joe Self is our best choice for Gilpin County’s next Clerk and Recorder. He has friends on both sides of the aisle and will be your go-to guy at the courthouse. Please join me and many others in supporting his bid for this very difficult job.
