ALLENSPARK — Blue skies and golden leaves set the tone for high vibes as turkeys, young and old, came together for a day of community gathering, good food and great music in the quaint mountain town of Allenspark.
The second annual Wild Turkey Fest took place last Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to about 3 p.m., starting with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Allenspark Area Club in support of the Allenspark Fire Protection District and a local farmers market.
As breakfast transpired, vendors set up their tents all along Highway 7 Business, across from The Old Gallery, and prepared for festival attendees. Vendors sold creations ranging from beautiful artistic puppets, cabin decor, and jewelry to CBD products, Parisian pastries and pine cone syrup!
Starting at 9 a.m., Whiskey Rebellion kicked off the day with classic rock covers. Following them was Steel Wolf, a mellow solo artist looping guitar riffs. To finish off the day, Los Cheesies performed, a high-energy world rock fusion party band that had people on their feet dancing in the sunshine.
There was a food court by the stage offering a variety of tasty goods like massive smoked turkey legs, Mexican tortilla soup, pies, and more. Adult beverages were also available, including Wild Turkey Bourbon shots and local beer from Estes Park Brewery.
In lieu of the theme, festival-goers participated in several amusing contests, including a turkey-calling competition, turkey costume contest, and turkey strut. There was also a scavenger hunt for attendees involving participating vendors.
Overall, the event was a happy and wholesome way to bring in the Fall season. To make things even better, proceeds benefit the Allenspark Food Bank, Allenspark Fire Protection District, and other small local organizations.
The Allenspark community has a unique and special charm to it—if you haven’t visited yet, now is a great time to go.
