Jen Hinderman, Gilpin County. Many of you may remember on September 3, 2017, one of Timberline’s firefighters (Jimi King) was in a serious motorcycle accident. The community support was incredible, including several fundraisers one of which was held at Roy’s Last Shot. Jimi spent four months in the ICU at Saint Anthony’s Hospital followed by six months learning to walk, talk, drive, and care for himself at Craig Hospital.
Miraculously, with the love and support from Jimi’s mother, family, fellow firefighters, the community and divine intervention he is now a Security Supervisor in Black Hawk. Over the past two years, Jimi has also earned his Colorado State Firefighter 1, Hazmat Operations, EMT Basic, and Wildland Fire certification including an arduous pack test. He is now a fully certified Timberline firefighter and was recently presented with his black traditional style helmet at our August Board of Directors meeting. This helmet represents his dedication and commitment to the community, and the fire service as a whole.
Jimi is back to being very active and responding to all types of community needs including medical emergencies, house fires and wildland fires. Everyone at Timberline is incredibly proud of Jimi and his accomplishments!
On behalf of Jimi, his family, and Timberline Fire, we thank you, our community, for your support.
