Barbara Lawlor, Rollinsville. Ann Dean, a former Nederland resident who now lives in Longmont  travels to Uganda to bring aid to the poverty-stricken residents, especially the orphans. After years of war and corruption, the residents are often forced to live in shelters of sticks and mud.

Many children live great-grandparents who have no way of caring for them. Dean works with Harmony Life Ministries, an organization that builds homes and schools and and helps feed and educate the children. Of a population of 36 million people, two million of them are orphans.

On Sunday, July 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The String Beans Coffee Shop in Rollinsville is assisting Dean and her mission with a fundraiser for Harmony Life Ministries.

Local musicians, the Gael, the Brightwood All Stars and Calvary Chapel’s Revelation 19 will perform, each of them bringing their diverse music to the String Beans stage.

Finger food and soft drinks will be served and coffee and baked goods will be sold, all proceeds going to the Uganda mission of Harmonies Life Ministries.

There will be a silent auction featuring vacations, massages and African baskets.

The String Bean Cafe is located across the street from the Stage Stop in Rollinsville.
