Rylee Kutscher

Alex Jaffe, Nederland. Rylee Kutscher, a senior graduating from Nederland Middle Senior High School this year, is an accomplished student who has been attending Nederland schools since kindergarten.

One of her fondest memories from her time at Nederland Elementary school is “Playing groundies and capture the flag on the playground so intensely that they forbid us from playing it anymore.” While Rylee attended Nederland Middle Senior High School (NMSHS) she played volleyball all four years of high school, basketball from grades nine to eleven, and soccer in grades eleven and twelve. She was also a member of the National Honor Society in grades eleven and twelve. Rylee was also a 360 Leader in grades nine to eleven, and she was a member of the Executive Student Council as a junior.

When asked what she loved about high school she answered, “I’ve loved playing sports, joking around with my teachers, and making memories with my friends. During my high school lunch breaks, I’ve made some of the most interesting memories ranging from screaming country music in the car with Sydney to watching Peter get his car stuck everywhere”.

She also said, “I’m going to miss all of the amazing teachers that helped me to get to this point in my life. I will also definitely miss sports and all the fun memories made at practices, games, and bus rides.”

There have been many things that have been keeping Rylee going to school in Nederland, from the amazing teachers to the fact that in this small school all of the teachers know her personally and she was able to always get the help she needed. She also says, “I’ve always enjoyed math and science classes, they are subjects I enjoy, and although English isn’t my favorite subject I’ve enjoyed the teachers profusely and made fond memories.

Outside of school, Rylee has worked at Sundance Stables, Lincoln Hills, and the Carousel of Happiness. She is very passionate about sports, Cherry Pepsi, Pringles, and animals. She is also very passionate about her pets including her horse Sunny D, her puppy Cash Money, and her geckos Tequila and Lime.

Rylee would like to recognize her grandmother who has always been an important mentor in her life, as well as some of her teachers like Mr. Geels, Mr. Real, and Ms.Yakubov.

After she graduates from NMSHS, she is planning on attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She is going to be majoring in Animal Sciences. She is hoping to “become a veterinarian or find some other career in the animal world”. Currently, she has received $52,000 in scholarship money.

Congratulations Rylee on all your hard work, and accomplishments.
