NEDERLAND — She’s been around for a very long time, but few in Nederland know the long, strange trip that took her to where she is now: the practitioner at Peaceful Path Hypnotherapy.

She is Pamela Harrington, the long-time owner of Good Life Pilates in Nederland, a former equestrian clinician/riding instructor, now practicing as a hypnotherapist in Ned and worldwide on Zoom.

Her transition as a clinician began as what might have seemed like a miracle. Her routine surgery turned into a life-changing injury that threatened her mobility. She ultimately turned to an old friend who had become a clinical hypnotherapist, and within six weeks had essentially healed the wound “by simply doing hypnotherapy daily.”

Harrington and her doctors believed in “hypnosis and the power of the mind to heal the body, [but] had just never seen such a profound example.”

She has since become a trauma-informed clinical hypnotherapist. Her practice includes work on “stress, anxiety and trauma release, addiction recovery, sleep disorders, fear and phobia resolution, life transitions, releasing old patterns, nervous system regulation, chronic pain relief, narcissistic abuse recovery, equestrian and sports performance, academic performance, overcoming obstacles, self esteem and confidence building, autoimmune disorder support, performance anxiety, spirit guide work, couples work, and even past life/alternate life path journeys.”

Offering a free 30-minute phone consultation to prospective clients, Harrington then plans a minimum of three to four 90-minute session.

“This ensures that we get to the root of the problem," she said. "It also provides that when we are complete in our project the client will have the tools and knowledge needed to create their own daily practice and make the shifts last.”

Her studio, shared with Good Life Pilates, bears the sign Rose Heart Hypnotherapy, but she is currently changing the name of the business to Peaceful Path Hypnotherapy because she “found there is another place called Rose Heart Hypnotherapy in Missouri where [she] likely will also be doing a fair amount of work.”

The future also includes more emphasis on her equestrian offerings, as well as an expansion into teaching workshops and traveling so she “can spread this gift to as many people as [she] can possibly reach.”

Harrington works so that she can see “people making lasting changes in their lives…people returning to their true selves and waking up to their full potential.”

The bottom line for her: “I see miracles happen regularly.  I see the very best of who people are.  I get to know and understand things in ways I never knew before and it is an incredible journey.”
