NEDERLAND — Have you ever thought that your child needs a tutor for a subject in school—and then realize that they need help beyond the subject matter?
Confidence, study skills, organization, and Executive Functioning Skills (remembering instructions, multi-tasking, following through) are all assets for success in school and work. Jaz and Michael John Mannion at Just2 Educational Services have been tutoring and looking at the whole student and their situation since 2001.
Michael John is an educational specialist and Jaz is a therapist and parent advocate. They have a team of coaches who work with them to assist the students with their needs.
They work with Kindergartners through college students. They serve students online as well as in person.
Just2 meets students where they are, and helps build their confidence, and skills, and to become more independent.
They work with students and families in different ways and in the areas where they need assistance. One way they do this is with The Function Club. This is an online format where they meet with students grouped by age (middle school, high school, and college). The Function Club coaches Executive Functions. They work on routine, expectations, time management, and follow-through.
Focus Up coaches focusing skills with students.
The Comprehensive Program is one-on-one support for students.
Just2 is launching Family Circle Up starting on Wednesday, October 21, at 6:15 p.m. This program helps families talk about and find solutions to the triggers and arguments surrounding homework and struggles around school.
All of their programs are aimed to boost student success both in school and in life.
Michael John said, “Kids often say they are lazy. They are not. We focus on success, positive self-talk, and kids start to trust themselves.”
He added, “It is not all about the grades, it is the process to the grades.”
Jaz and Michael John are passionate about helping kids learn how to keep routines, and in coaching juniors and seniors regarding how to prepare for SAT testing and for college. They are not here to fix; they are here to build skills in content competency, productivity, accountability, and self-knowing.
Jaz said, “Our work takes commitment. We want to shift the paradigm from not only helping during the school year but continue working on the skills all year round. Consistent contact year round and we will work with the families."
The programs provide routine and effective support. This then creates trust and confidence. “While working with families we often hear ‘We got our kid back,’” said Jaz.
Just2 Educational Services will also support parents with their child’s 504 and IEP needs.
Just2 works with families online and at local libraries. They serve students in the mountains and the Front Range. Contact them to chat about your family’s unique needs. The Mannions and their team of coaches have years of experience that will help you and your children.
