Barbara Lawlor, Central City. The march to the tree. All 250 Gilpin Elementary School students marched from the Teller House to the tree at the end of the main street in town. Each one carried a handmade ornament to put on the holiday tree. The children then attended a story-telling party at the Teller House. It is a much loved tradition and one that signifies the official beginning of the Christmas season.
