Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. Nederland’s Rose Filer, a junior at the University of Washington and a member of the Huskies Women’s Crew, placed fourth in the NCAA National Championship finals on California’s Lake Natoma last Sunday, May 31.

Two weeks ago her boat won the Pac-12 championship, beating Washington State, California, USC, Stanford, UCLA, and Oregon State. Three of the rowers are juniors and will return next season.
Filer is an anthropology and nutrition major and placed on the Dean’s list. She was home schooled and worked at the New Moon Bakery. Her parents are Steve and Carol Filer of Nederland.
