Sahari McCormick, Gilpin County. Gilpin Art on Display. The Gilpin Clay Studio recently added new pieces to the sculpture garden outside the Gilpin Rec Center. While many smaller pieces were installed over the summer, members of the Clay Studio (Rebecca Lundberg, Sahari McCormick, Ann Sherman, instructor Steve Briggs and Donna Phillips. Not pictured Susan Green) gathered recently to erect 4 totems made in the studio. One is a tribute to mountain living and includes a log cabin, and another pays homage to the Rec Center itself and its activities (see the pickleball or bowl of spaghetti?) Pieces can be seen to the right of the Rec Center entrance and around to the side of the building.
