NEDERLAND - Reportedly millions of people all across the county, including tens of thousands across Colorado, gathered on Saturday, October 18, 2025, for No Kings rallies; Nederland showed up as well, and in style.
An eggplant, a pickle, a bunch of bananas, and a T-Rex could be found protesting at the Peace Sculpture Garden off Highway 119, brandishing signs that highlighted many causes, from supporting the Veterans Association to "freeing Palestine," but mainly focusing on President Donald J. Trump’s authoritarian overreach and the claim that No Kings protestors are anti-American.
The first No Kings protest—organized by a coalition of civil rights groups and unified by the 50501 movement—was purposefully held on the same day as Trump’s scheduled Grand Military Parade and Celebration; This second movement of over 2,700 peaceful demonstrations across the country was organized to continue rallying against Trump’s “abuses of power,” as stated on the official No Kings website.
