On 1/2/21, Nederland Police investigated a disturbance that occurred in the Town of Nederland that resulted in a Trespass Affidavit and notification issued to one party.

On 1/3/21, Nederland Police investigated complaints of Harassment and Criminal Mischief, related to Domestic Violence in the Town of Nederland. A suspect was arrested and transported to the Boulder County Jail and booked. The Gilpin County Sheriff’s office assisted with this case; their case number is 21-0005. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office also assisted; their case number is 21-42.

On 1/8/21, Nederland Police took an informational report on an Unemployment Fraud committed against a party residing in the Town of Nederland. The reporting party was referred to the CBI and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) and the credit reporting agencies.

On 1/11/21, a Nederland officer was dispatched to the Visitor center for a report of a male having a seizure in his Toyota Tacoma. Upon arrival, the officer found a blue colored Tacoma on the sidewalk area in front of the visitor center. The driver was inside, after reportedly having a seizure. There were witnesses talking to him. The officer checked to see the car was in park, and removed the keys from the ignition. Medical arrived a few minutes later. They were able to walk the male to the ambulance.

On 1/11/21, Nederland Police took a report of an unknown person attempting to collect unemployment benefits from her. She was notified by her employer. The person had her name, and social security number. It does not appear they were successful. Report is generated for future ID theft issues.

On 1/14/21, Nederland Police investigated a disturbance at Nederland Elementary School in the Town of Nederland. The suspect in the disturbance is a juvenile. No charges were filed at the time of incident, but the case remains open for investigation.

On 1/18/21, Nederland Police took a report of a 30 year old male rolling his 1998 Toyota Tacoma on Barker Road. He was turning from Big Springs Drive on to Barker Road. He attempted to slow for the approaching corner, locked up all for tires (new all-terrain tires) slid 45-50ft, into the ditch causing his truck to roll onto the passenger side. The truck was stopped by aspen trees. The driver left the area and walked to a friend’s house on Barker Road. The road was really slick. However, no other cars crashed as he did. Party chose to pay Big Toe directly to avoid his vehicle being impounded. Vehicle was damaged but drivable. A summons was issued for driving too fast for conditions.

On 1/21/21, Nederland Police investigated a report of a physical disturbance. During the investigation it was determined there was a violation of a protection order. The Nederland Police Department proceeded to obtain a warrant.

On 1/24/21, a Nederland officer was dispatched to a report of a domestic violence incident occurring in the parking lot of the Ubon restaurant. The reported victim was uncooperative. The suspect was identified and claimed there was no physical altercation.

On 1/25/21, Nederland Police took a report of an incident between a mother and daughter over homework. The mother allegedly pulled the daughters hair, causing everyone to get upset. Mediation and Co-Responders were brought in. Family issues are not a crime.

On 1/25/21, Nederland Police responded to a report of a female in her 20’s, self-inflicted two severe cuts to her thigh. Alcohol and hallucinogens appear to have been a factor in the incident. She was transported to the hospital where she is expected to make a full recovery.

On 1/29/21, Nederland Police were dispatched to a report of a stolen vehicle. During the investigation it was determined it was not a criminal incident, but rather a civil one. The case closed.

On 1/30/21, Nederland Police received a report of a vehicle off the road. Both the Nederland Police Department and the Nederland Fire Department responded and located the vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied. The driver was later located.
