Milestones: Cody and Shelby Allen

Shelby Nicole Nation Allen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shelby Nicole Nation Allen. Shelby was born on February 7, 1993, in Atlanta, Gorgia, and passed away on December 11, 2020, at the age of 27 in her hometown of Central City, Colorado. 

She attended Nederland High School. Shelby was a graduate of the University of Colorado where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Physiology. Shelby worked several jobs after college: physical therapist, volleyball coach, 911 operator, victims advocate, and volunteer firefighter. Shelby loved to help people and each of these jobs allowed her to do that in one capacity or another. At the time of her death, she worked for C&L Water Solutions Inc. as a Site Foreman.

Shelby passed away alongside her handsome husband, Cody Allen and their two dogs Daisy Mae and Dixie Lou, in a tragic home accident and is survived by her parents: Michael Nation, Stepmother Jennifer Nation, Mother Suzi Lorenz, Stepfather Jeff Lorenz, Siblings Wesley and Sydney Nation, Paternal Grandparents Pat and Brian Minkel, Larry and Sue Nation, Diane DeVor, Maternal Grandparents Pat Scott, Tom Bluhm, and Kay Lorenz. Aunts and Uncles; Shelly and Joey Silva, Brian and Melissa Combee, Cody and Amy Combee, Shelly DeVor, John Young, Shelly Roosa and Don Wankerl, Tony and Mary Lorenz, Lisa Artz, Heidi and Ed Pasic and Al and Stephanie Elio.

Memorial Services were held on December 18, 2020. 

Cody Robert Allen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cody Robert Allen. Cody was born on May 24, 1991, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and passed away on December 11, 2020, at the age of 29 in his hometown of Central City, Colorado. 

Cody was an amazing human. He was kind, honest, and hardworking. He was always willing to help his family and friends and was active in his community. Cody had multiple jobs in his short life, but his dream job was to be a firefighter. He began his firefighter career in 2006 as a Jr. Volunteer Firefighter for Central City Fire Department (CCFD). Through hard work and perseverance, his dream came true in 2019 when he became the first full-time paid firefighter for CCFD.

Cody passed away alongside his beautiful wife, Shelby Allen and their two dogs Daisy Mae and Dixie Lou, in a tragic home accident and is survived by his parents; Lowell Allen and Gina Bailey, Stepfather Steve Bailey, Grandmother Glenda Allen, Siblings Steven Armbright, Brett Allen, Rebecka Allen, Aubrey Allen, two Nieces Natalie and Brooklyn, Nephew Hatcher, four Uncles, two of which Cody was the closest with are, Gary and Steve Allen, two Aunts Susie Allen and Jennifer Mills, as well as Cousins. He was predeceased by his Grandfather Robert Allen and Grandmother Sandra Mills.

Memorial Services were held on December 18, 2020.
