Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. The Nederland Middle Level Nordic Team practices three days a week for five weeks in the months of January and February. This year’s team is coached by Wayne Clark, who says Nordic skiing is a great way to get out, enjoy the mountain and have some fun.
The team focuses on learning proper technique, while exploring the trails of Eldora Mountain Resort and having a great time.
“The 2018 team is the largest we have had in years and we are looking to expand more next year.
We are very lucky because our school has a large amount of equipment, so most athletes do not need to buy anything to join the team. This will allow our numbers to grow and will break down economic barriers. We are also very excited for the donation of skis to Ned Elementary from the National Winter Sports Education Foundation, which will get more of our youngsters on skis.”
