On 3/1/18 at approximately 6:35 p.m., a deputy was involved in a motor vehicle crash at approximately mile marker 13.5 on Highway 119. Both the deputy and other driver were treated on scene by members of the Gilpin County Ambulance Authority. The Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene and conducted an accident investigation. A report was also completed by the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office.
On 3/1/18 at approximately 8:36 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop at approximately mile marker 6.2 on the Central City Parkway. The driver of the vehicle was later found not to have a valid driver`s license and was issued a summons.
On 3/2/18 at approximately 12:40 a.m., a deputy was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center. As part of standard release procedure, an inmate was cleared through NCIC/CCIC and found to have and active warrant. The warrant was confirmed, and the inmate was booked into Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.
On 3/2/18 at approximately 9:45 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a reported harassment, which allegedly occurred inside of the Century Casino and Hotel. The reporting party was contacted, and a case report was later completed.
On 3/2/18 deputies responded to a fight in progress in the 100 block of Lawrence Street. One party was found to have drug paraphernalia and neither party involved in the altercation wanted to pursue charges. A report was later completed.
On 3/2/18 at approximately 7:55 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a physical disturbance in the Indian Peaks subdivision. The suspect was reported to have been injured during the altercation. Upon arrival, the deputies investigated the incident. The victims refused to pursue charges and the suspect was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/2/18 a deputy responded to the 100 block of Nevada Street on a report of a theft. A party was issued a summons for theft and a report was later completed.
On 3/2/18 deputies responded to a disturbance in progress in the Colorado Sierra Alpha and Beta Subdivision. A male party was later arrested.
On 3/2/18 deputies responded to a disturbance between a male and female party at the Gold Mountain Village Apartments in the 400 block of Powder Run Drive. A domestic violence investigation was conducted, and the male party was subsequently arrested. A report was later completed.
On 3/3/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Russell Gulch Road. A DUI investigation was conducted, and the driver was released after the investigation was conducted.
On 3/3/18 at approximately 6:40 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a suspicious male party at the Century Casino and Hotel at 102 Main Street. The male party was identified, he had two felony warrants for his arrest and was in possession of a substance which field tested to be presumptive positive as methamphetamine. The party was arrested for the possession of a schedule II drug and two warrants. A case report was later completed.
On 3/3/18 at 2:21 p.m., deputies responded to the 300 block of Timber Drive on a medical call. Deputies learned that two children were left home alone for a short period of time. A report was taken and the information was forwarded to Human Services.
On 3/3/18 at 4:09 p.m., a deputy responded to the area of Pitts Place on the report of a property marker being removed. A report was taken.
On 3/4/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/4/18 at approximately 10:26 p.m., a male party turned himself in to the Gilpin County Detention Facility on two active Gilpin County warrants, and two active out-of-county warrants.
On 3/4/18 at approximately 10:57 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino on a report of a possible stolen or lost cell phone. A case report was completed.
On 3/5/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119 and the driver was arrested for a warrant.
On 3/5/18 a deputy was conducting an area check of the Grand Z Parking Garage and made contact with a vehicle. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/5/18 at 10:54 a.m., a deputy was completing a new booking and an inmate in the Gilpin County Detention Facility was found to have an active warrant.
On 3/5/18 a deputy stopped a vehicle for a defective brake light. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s license. The driver was issued a summons.
On 3/5/18 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a deputy took a report of a stolen vehicle from the Gold Mountain Village Apartments, located at 425 Mammoth View Ln 5-302, Central City, Gilpin County Colorado. After further investigation, it was found the vehicle in question was not stolen out of Gilpin County, and was falsely reported to authorities. A case report was completed.
On 3/6/18 at approximately 11:10 a.m., a party came to the front lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office to turn herself in on an active warrant. Two pocket knives were discovered in inmate property during a routine booking process. The knives were submitted into evidence for safekeeping.
On 3/6/18 a deputy responded to a motorist assist on the Central City Parkway. It was later determined to be an accident and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving and booked into jail.
On 3/7/18 at approximately 9:45 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 200 Block of East 4th High Street regarding an animal complaint. A dog was bitten by another dog. The owner of the aggressive dog surrendered it to Foothills Animal Shelter. A case report was later completed.
On 3/7/18 at approximately 10:24 a.m., a deputy responded to a cold burglary on the 1000 block of Pewabic Mountain Rd. The reporting party stated items were taken in and around the residence.
On 3/7/18 at approximately 10:01 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 7000 Block of Virginia Canyon Road regarding a theft. A case report was later completed.
On 3/8/18 at approximately 10:02 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a report of an abandoned 911 call in the 800 block of Stone Road. The deputy located the caller at the intersection of Taylor Drive and La Chula Road. This party was arrested for Obstructing Government Operations and other traffic offenses. A report was later completed.
On 3/8/18 a Gilpin Deputy responded to Dory Lakes Drive on a neighbor dispute. Both parties were contacted, and the adult male who had trespassed on his neighbor`s property agreed to stay off his neighbor`s property in the future. A report was filed with no charges filed.
On 3/8/18 a deputy located a damaged stop sign at the intersection of Spring Street and Gregory Street. The driver who damaged the stop sign was located and issued a penalty assessment. A report was later completed.
On 3/8/18 at approximately 11:57 p.m., a deputy conducted a welfare check on a male party in the Grand Z parking garage. The male party was later found to have an active warrant and was placed under arrest.
On 3/9/18 a deputy was completing the release process for a Gilpin County inmate. During this time the deputy located an arrest warrant for the inmate. The warrant was confirmed, and the inmate was booked into the jail on the new warrant.
On 3/9/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 and Dory Lake Drive. The driver was later issued a summons for driving while license suspended.
On 3/10/18 a deputy conducted a welfare check in the Century Casino Parking Garage. During the welfare check, drugs were located and a male party was arrested. A report was later completed.
On 3/10/18 at approximately 5:26 p.m., three male parties arrived at the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to relinquish a found handgun. The handgun was later processed into evidence for safekeeping and a report was generated.
On 3/10/18 a deputy responded to the Grand Z Casino on the report of an unruly patron. A male was later issued a summons for harassment.
On 3/10/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville and the driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/10/18 a deputy contacted a vehicle at mile marker 2.0 on Highway 119. The vehicle had been reported stolen and the male occupant was arrested and booked into jail on numerous charges.
On 3/11/18 at 3:19 p.m., a deputy responded to a parking lot located in the 100 block of Main Street, Central City, on an injury accident. A report was completed.
On 3/12/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/12/18 a deputy took a report of damage to a vehicle in the Century parking garage. There is no suspect information.
On 3/12/18 at approximately 9:50 p.m., a male turned himself into the Gilpin County Jail to be processed for an active warrant issued for his arrest. The male was processed without incident.
On 3/12/18 deputies responded to the area of Highway 119 and Gap Road, on the report of a theft. One party was arrested, and two summonses were issued.
On 3/13/18 a deputy stopped a vehicle on the Central City Pkwy because the driver had active warrants. The driver was taken into custody.
On 3/13/18 at 2:50 p.m., a deputy responded to the 3300 block of Bald Mountain Road, on a criminal mischief call. A report was taken.
On 3/13/18 at approximately 4:35 p.m., A Gilpin Deputy hit a ballard at the Gilpin County School. Colorado State Patrol responded and completed a report.
On 3/14/18 at approximately 7:25 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a disturbance at the Gold Mountain Village Apartments, located in the 400 block of Powder Run Drive, Central City, Colorado, 80427. After investigating the disturbance, a party was arrested and later processed into the Gilpin County Jail. A case report was later completed.
On 3/14/18 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a deputy responded to a call regarding an animal complaint in the 600 Block of Meadow Lake Drive. The responsible party was charged with Unlawful Ownership of a Dangerous Dog and a report was completed.
On 3/14/18 at approximately 1:52 p.m., deputies with the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in mid-county. A short-term solution was reached, and Human Services was notified for follow up.
On 3/12/17 at approximately 5:55 p.m., deputies responded to a property on Academy Street in Central City on a land use violation, a party was living in a camper on the property in violation of municipal ordinances. The deputies were unable to contact the party living in the camper, but the party had been previously identified. A summons was completed to be served to the party when he is contacted.
On 3/14/18 at approximately 9:30 p.m., two adult males called 911 stating they were stranded 3 miles up Rollins Pass Road as their vehicles were stuck in the snow. One of the adult males reported he could not walk as he was elderly, wearing sweat pants and tennis shoes, and his feet were cold and numb. It was later discovered this male used a walker to get around. Alpine Search and Rescue was notified and assisted the Sheriff`s Office, with two tracked ATV`s and a team, in rescuing the two adult males. Both males were checked medically, and no injuries were found other than cold feet and hands. Both were given a courtesy ride to a warm place.
On 3/14/18 at approximately 8:41 p.m., a deputy was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center and received a call from the Control Center in the jail stating that there was a party in the lobby that wanted to turn himself in. Upon contact, he stated that he was there to turn himself in because he had a warrant for his arrest.
0n 3/15/18 at approximately 5:04 p.m., a deputy working his assigned shift at the Gilpin County Jail, arrested one adult female and had her booked into the Gilpin County Jail on a warrant without incident.
On 3/15/18 at approximately 8:51 p.m., a male inmate currently in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility was found to have an active out-of-county warrant.
On 3/16/18 a deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of Tolland Road on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Colorado State Patrol responded to investigate the accident and a report was later completed.
On 3/16/18 a deputy responded to Taggert`s Gas Station on a report of a disturbance in progress between a male and female. It was determined that no criminal actions had taken place between the two parties; however, there was property damage that occurred. The victim in the case declined to pursue charges.
On 3/16/18 at approximately 10:38 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at approximately 5.3 Highway 119. One of the parties was later arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail for violation of a protection order.
On 3/16/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville. The driver was later arrested for violation of a protection order.
On 3/17/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 46. The driver was issued a summons for several traffic offenses.
On 3/17/18 at approximately 9:20 p.m., a female party arrived at the Sheriff`s Office to visit an inmate. A deputy located a warrant for the female party. The female party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.
On 3/17/18 a deputy received a call of a female party laying in the middle of highway 72 within unincorporated Gilpin County. The female party was later located within Pinecliffe and it was discovered that she had a warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody for the warrant and transported to the Gilpin County Jail without incident.
On 3/17/18 at approximately 9:52 p.m., a Gilpin deputy noticed a car driving on southbound Highway 119 near mile post 19.5, at 20 to 25 MPH in a 40 MPH zone, weaving outside of its lane, and with a defective license plate lamp. Further investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated. The driver asked for a ride home but was instead arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail for DUI and other traffic charges.
On 3/18/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 10500 block of the Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for a traffic violation.
On 3/18/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop off Lawrence Street in Central City. The driver was arrested for two warrants and was issued a summons.
On 3/18/18 at approximately 4:10 p.m., a deputy responded to a property damage motor vehicle accident in the 100 block of Spring Street in the City of Central. An investigation was conducted on scene and one driver was cited.
On 3/18/18 a deputy responded to Paradise Valley Pkwy and Highway 119, on the report of a single vehicle rollover crash. The driver did not sustain any injuries but was arrested for DUI by Colorado State Patrol.
On 3/18/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville and the driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license.
On 3/19/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/19/18 at approximately 11:50 a.m., a deputy responded to a residence in mid-county on a welfare check. The party was found to be okay and made contact with their concerned family member.
On 3/19/18 at approximately 4:50 p.m., a Gilpin Deputy was directing traffic around an accident scene at mile post 12.5 on Highway 119 when he was almost struck by a passing vehicle. The deputy aired the vehicle description and another deputy stopped the suspect vehicle. The adult male driver was cited and released for Reckless Driving and Failed to Present Evidence of Insurance. A report was filed.
On 3/19/18 a deputy took a report of an attempted fraud. The case is active and still under investigation.
On 3/19/18 at approximately 5:49 p.m., a party came to the front lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to turn him in on an active warrant.
On 3/20/18 at 1:04 a.m., an adult male turned himself in on a no bond warrant for failure to appear for a jury trial at the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested without incident.
On 3/20/18 a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The vehicle eluded the Deputy on Spring Street and up Nevada Street, toward the Central City Parkway. The eluding vehicle spun out on gravel and came head-on towards the Deputy. The Deputy tried to avoid the vehicle, but the vehicle hit the Deputies patrol vehicle. A high risk (Felony stop) was conducted and the suspect was taken into custody. He was booked into Gilpin Jail on several felonies and misdemeanor charges.
On 3/20/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Virginia Canyon and Pewabic Mine Road. The driver of the vehicle did not stop. The Deputy pursued the vehicle a quarter mile down Two Brothers Road but disengaged due to road conditions.
On 3/20/18 at approximately 7:44 a.m., deputies contacted a vehicle belonging to a party with a suspended driver`s license. The sole occupant and driver of the vehicle was found to have a suspended driver`s license. The party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail for multiple charges and the vehicle was impounded.
On 3/21/18 at 8:30 a.m., hypodermic needles were found by a deputy in the men`s restroom outside the courts, on the floor and sink basin and they were disposed of in the evidence room sharps container.
On 3/21/18 at approximately 11:45 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a theft call which occurred at the Gilpin County Arts Showcase, in the upstairs of the Central City Visitor`s Center, at 103 Eureka Street. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the reporting party who explained what was taken and the estimated value. There was no suspect information and a case report was later completed.
On 3/21/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of High Street and Gregory Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen and the driver was arrested. A passenger in the vehicle was also found to have an active warrant and was also arrested. A report was later completed.
On 3/21/18 at approximately 10:40 p.m., a deputy responded with the Timberline Fire Department and the Central City Fire Department to a report of a generator that had caught fire and was catching the surrounding vegetation on fire at a property above the Russell Gulch area. The fire was extinguished prior to arrival and the fire department personnel extinguished the remaining hot spots.
On 3/22/18 at approximately 10:43 p.m., Gilpin County Dispatch aired a REDDI Report for a possible drunk driver on Highway 119. A deputy contacted the vehicle just south of Black Hawk on Highway 119. The driver was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail for DUI, Driving with a Revoked License, and Weaving.
On 3/23/18 at approximately 9:32 a.m., a Gilpin County Deputy investigated an identity theft that occurred on several eBay transactions.
On 3/23/18 a female party was to be released on local charges. As part of our standard policy and procedure the female party was cleared for wants and warrants. A deputy located an active warrant for the female party. She was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.
On 3/23/18 at 3:00 p.m., a motorist was stopped at Bridge Street and Spring Street for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver`s license was cancelled. She was served a summons and released.
On 3/23/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of Lump Gulch Road. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/24/18 at approximately 1:40 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 south of Black Hawk. The driver was issued a verbal warning for the violation. The passenger was found to have a suspended driver`s license and was issued a proof of service.
On 3/24/18 at approximately 2:18 a.m., deputies contacted a party at approximately mile marker 10.4 Highway 119. This party was arrested for violation of protection order. A report was later completed.
On 3/24/18 a deputy responded to the Easy Street Casino in Central City on a report of a theft. The suspect had already left the property before the crime had been reported. A report was completed, and suspect information is still trying to be obtained.
On 3/24/18 at approximately 5:41 p.m., a deputy responded to a residential address in Central City on the report of a dog problem. A report was generated to document the incident.
On 3/24/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 in Rollinsville. The driver was arrested for providing the deputy with a fraudulent Identification Card.
On 3/25/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of drugs.
On 3/25/18, a deputy at Gilpin County Detention Center discovered an inmate had an active warrant and needed to be booked in on the new warrant.
On 3/25/18 at 10:06 a.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Carol Court, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of an assault. All parties were interviewed, and a report was taken.
On 3/25/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on highway 119 at mm 16.4. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/26/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119 and the driver was issued a summons for driving under restraint.
On 3/26/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Lawrence Street in Central City and the driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/26/18 a deputy responded to an unruly/ intoxicated party at the Grand Z Casino. The party was later arrested for an unrelated warrant.
On 3/26/18 a deputy stopped a vehicle for a defective brake light. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s license and was issued a summons.
On 3/26/18 deputies responded to the 100 Block of Main Street in Rollinsville, on the report of a disturbance in progress. No charges were pursued, but a report was taken.
On 3/27/18 a deputy responded to a report of a truck that was in a residence front yard. The truck damaged a retaining wall. The driver was issued a summons.
On 3/27/18 at approximately 11:28 p.m., a party came to the front lobby to turn him in on an active warrant.
On 3/28/18 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a Gilpin deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. A summons was issued.
On 3/28/18 at approximately 4:20 p.m., a deputy contacted a vehicle for a traffic violation which occurred in approximately the 6800 Block of the Central City Pkwy. The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for driving under restraint (suspended) and safety belt not in use.
On 3/29/18 at approximately 9:30 a.m., an individual located in the Gilpin County Jail was arrested on a new criminal charge.
On 3/30/18 at approximately 10:08 a.m., a Gilpin deputy took a report of a neighbor dispute / harassment at Emory Road and Blue Flag Lane. A report was taken.
On 3/30/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for driving under restraint and the vehicle was impounded.
On 3/30/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. A passenger was issued a proof of service for having a restrained driver`s license.
On 3/30/18 at approximately 7:40 a.m., a female party arrived in the Sheriff`s Office lobby to turn herself in on a warrant. A deputy located an active warrant for the female party. She was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.
On 3/30/18 at 4:12 p.m., a deputy responded to the 500 block of Mountain View Drive on a dog issue. A report was completed.
On 3/30/18 a Deputy contacted a party sitting the driver`s seat of a running vehicle on level 2 of the Grand Z parking garage in the 300 block of Gregory Street. A DUI investigation was conducted, and the driver was subsequently arrested. A report was later completed.
On 3/31/18 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy. The driver was issued a summons and the passenger was arrested for a felony warrant.
On 3/31/18 at 2:20 p.m., a deputy responded to the 200 block of Whispering Hope Way on a theft call. An investigation was initiated.
