On Sunday, November 10, Jerome Casey, 52, of Nederland died from injuries sustained when he lost control of his motorcycle, a 2005 Yamaha, and crashed.
Casey had been traveling north on the Peak to Peak Highway when, at the 36 mile marker, he drifted into the southbound lane, rolled out on his left side and crashed into the embankment. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Casey was ejected during the rollover and sustained multiple injuries. The Nederland Fire Protection District, Sugarloaf Fire, AMR Ambulance, Nederland Police Department, and the Colorado State Patrol responded to the site of the accident. Casey was treated at the scene and transported to Boulder Community Hospital where he later was pronounced dead.
Casey was a well-known Century Link installer in the Nederland area.
The cause of death is under investigation.
