On 1/1/19 at approximately 7:27 a.m., a Gilpin deputy took a report of a possible burglary. The case is under investigation.
On 1/1/19 at approximately 11:45 a.m., a deputy responded to a report of a vehicle being vandalized. The deputy photographed the vehicle and completed a report for the incident.

On 1/2/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Century Casino Parking Garage. The driver was arrested for distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of an identification document, violation of bond conditions and driving while revoked as a habitual traffic offender. The driver was booked into Gilpin Jail.
On 1/2/19 at approximately 9:24 a.m., a Gilpin deputy assisted Colorado State Patrol with a death investigation at milepost 5.7 in unincorporated Gilpin County.
On 1/2/19 a deputy located a warrant for an inmate. The inmate was booked into the Gilpin County Jail for the warrant.
On 1/2/19 at 8:11 p.m., a deputy responded to a casino in the 100 block of Main Street, Central City, on the report of a counterfeit ten-dollar bill. A report was taken.
On 1/2/19 at approximately 11:25 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop near the 200 block of Lawrence Street, Central City. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license. A summons was issued to the driver.
On 1/3/19 at approximately 5:17 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Century Casino on the report of a drug violation. Upon arrival, the employee who witnessed the violation pointed out the suspect who was identified and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 1/3/19 at approximately 8:11 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy performed a traffic stop in the 300 block of Lawrence Street in Central City. The driver was found to have a suspended drivers license. A summons was issued, and the driver had someone with a valid license come and get him and the vehicle.
On 1/3/19 at approximately 8:30 a.m., a female party was remanded in court on an open warrant, and also found to be in violation of a protection order.
On 1/3/19 at approximately 11:25 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. During the traffic stop the deputy learned that the license plates on the vehicle belonged to a different vehicle, the drivers license was revoked, and the vehicle was uninsured. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court.
On 1/4/19 a deputy responded to a report of a deceased dog. The owner was charged for not licensing the dog in Gilpin County.
On 1/4/19 at approximately 1:50 p.m., a male turned himself in on a Gilpin County warrant for failure to appear on a case for driving under the influence with over three priors with a bond of $2,500 cash or surety. He was processed into the jail without incident.
On 1/4/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle because it was believed a party who had a warrant was inside. The party with the warrant was taken into custody and the driver was issued a summons for not having a valid drivers license.
On 1/4/19 at approximately 4:10 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a call involving a party with an active arrest warrant. While attempting to locate the party, a deputy observed a car traveling in the opposite direction. The party with the active warrant was sitting in the front seat of the vehicle. The deputies conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle and the party was arrested on the warrant and the driver of the vehicle was issued a summons to appear in court. The party was then booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 1/4/19 at 5:31 p.m., a deputy took a report of lost property which occurred in the 200 block of Highway 46, unincorporated Gilpin County.
On 1/5/19 at approximately 9:20 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy contacted a male party asleep inside of his vehicle inside the Century Casino Parking Garage in Central City. The deputy noticed drug paraphernalia and woke the party up. The party admitted having smoked methamphetamine the previous evening but was no longer in possession of the drug. The party provided consent to search the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was seized as evidence, but no methamphetamine was located. Some Schedule 4 controlled substance/prescription medicine that was not his was located and seized as evidence. The party was released on a summons.
On 1/5/19 at approximately 5:20 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy working his assigned shift at the Gilpin County Jail, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, arrested a male party on three warrants. The male party was booked into the jail without incident.
On 1/6/19 at approximately 9:11 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy was on an area check of Prospectors Run. There was a report of a suspicious male and female party in the area. The deputy noticed a female party walking out of the area as he arrived. The deputy located and contacted the male party in the 800 block of Vernon Drive. Another deputy responded and contacted the female party in the 300 block of Eureka Street a short time later. The male party was a person of interest for the Federal Heights PD. They requested he be field interviewed, and the information was provided to their department. He was found to have a suspended driver’s license, so his license was seized, and he was issued a proof of service. The female party was found to have a warrant, was taken into custody, and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 1/6/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for not having a front license plate. An occupant of the vehicle had a warrant and was booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 1/6/19 at approximately 2:40 p.m., a medical call was aired via radio at 14905 Highway 119, Timberline Fire Station #5, located in unincorporated Gilpin County. A male party was brought to the fire station by a family member due to a medical emergency. The party died at the fire station. A case report was later completed.
On 1/6/19 at approximately 3:22 p.m., a female party arrived for visitation at the Gilpin County Jail. She was found to have an active suspension on her instruction permit and she was issued a proof of service without incident.
On 1/7/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Nevada Street in Central City. The driver was arrested for driving while under the influence of marijuana and driving while license suspended.
On 1/7/19 a deputy contacted a male party for riding his wheel chair in the middle of Gregory Street. The male party had a warrant for his arrest.
On 1/7/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for not having a front license plate. The driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and was taken into custody.
On 1/8/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. The driver was issued a summons for driving under restraint.
On 1/8/19 a deputy responded to the Century Casino, on the report of counterfeit $100 bill.
On 1/8/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for driving on a revoked license. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for a warrant and booked into Gilpin Jail.
On 1/9/19 at approximately 10 p.m., a deputy was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center. The deputy was informed through shift change that Communication at Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office had found a warrant on an inmate and needed to be booked in on it.
On 1/9/19 at approximately 1:11 p.m., a deputy conducted a welfare check on a party sitting in their vehicle parked at 1351 Highway 119, Black Hawk. A summons was issued as a result of this contact. On 1/9/19 a party came into the sheriffs office to report a theft. A report was taken.
On 1/9/19 at approximately 2:29 p.m., a party came to the Gilpin County Jail to bond out a male party. The male party was cleared through the system when a warrant showed active out of Gilpin County Sheriffs Office for contempt of court/failure to comply, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. There was a no bond hold for this warrant. The party was booked in on this warrant without incident.
On 1/9/19 at 9:27 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Vernon Drive, Central City, on a burglary in-progress. Upon arrival, the deputy took a male into custody. The suspect was later taken to jail.
On 1/10/19 a deputy responded to a dog at large. The dog was a black lab, had no tags and only a choker chain collar on. The dog was picked up and was transported to the Gilpin County Detention Center. Later in the evening, the owner picked up the dog. A warning was given.
On 1/11/19 a deputy responded to a non-injury accident on the Central City Parkway.
On 1/11/19 at approximately 4:35 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy observed a black Dodge Durango fail to stop at three red traffic signals in the city of Black Hawk. The deputy attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle attempted to elude the deputy but eventually crashed at approximately mile marker 5.8 of Highway 119 when it collided with a utility box. The driver of the vehicle resisted arrest but was taken into custody.
On 1/12/19 a deputy contacted a party in the 300 block of Gregory Street, Gilpin County, Central City, who had multiple active warrants. The party was arrested for the warrants and a report was later completed.
On 1/13/19 at approximately 8:11 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop near the 5000 block of Highway 119, Black Hawk. The driver was found to be driving under suspension. A summons was issued to the driver.
On 1/12/19 at 10:17 p.m., a deputy responded to the 100 block of Aspen Lane, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of a habitual barking dog. The reporting person requested a citation be issued to the owner of the dog.
On 1/13/19 a deputy responded to the Grand Z Casino, on the report of a counterfeit $100 bill. The bill was collected with no suspect information and sent to the Secret Service.
On 1/13/19 at approximately 4 p.m., a female party came to the Gilpin County Sheriffs Office for visitation. Her license was discovered to be suspended. The license was returned to the Department of Revenue, and the party was issued a proof of service.
On 1/13/19 at approximately 4:10 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a possible burglary and theft on Havilah Street, located in unincorporated Central City. A case report was later completed.
On 1/14/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for two warrants.
On 1/14/19 at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy working his assigned shift at the Gilpin County Courts took a male party into custody on a warrant without incident.
On 1/14/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 1/14/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver didnt have a valid drivers license and the vehicle was displaying fictitious plates. A summons was issued.
On 1/15/19 at approximately 5 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a vehicle that had been reported stolen at the Z-Stop gas station, Black Hawk. A report was taken, and the vehicle was impounded.
On 1/15/19 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 10 block of Dill Pickle Place, Black Hawk, on a death investigation. It was determined the death was of natural causes. A report was taken.
On 1/16/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lawrence Street, Central City. The driver was found to have been in a motor vehicle accident and the investigation was given to Colorado State Patrol. A report was later completed.
On 1/17/19 at approximately 11:27 p.m., a deputy responded to a residential address on the report of a disturbance. A male party was later transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
On 1/18/19 at approximately 3:15 a.m., a deputy responded to a residential address on the report of a burglary in progress. A male party was later issued a proof of service.
On 1/18/19 a deputy was dispatched to a report of a drug violation at the Grand Z Casino located at 321 Gregory Street, Central City. A party was subsequently arrested, and a report was later completed.
On 1/18/19 at approximately 6:11 a.m., a deputy was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center. The deputy was informed by control that there was a male party in the lobby that was wanting to turn himself in on a warrant.
On 1/18/19 a deputy was dispatched to a report of a drug violation at the Grand Z Casino located in Central City. A party was subsequently arrested on multiple warrants and a report was later completed.
On 1/18/19 a deputy was conducting an area check of the Grand Z Casino Parking Garage, Central City. During a welfare check, drugs were located, and a party was arrested. A report was later completed.
On 1/18/19 a Gilpin County deputy performed a traffic stop on Gregory Street near the intersection of Hooper Street, in Central City. The driver was cleared by dispatch and found to have a cancelled drivers license. She was issued a summons for her charges, told not to drive, and her license was seized.
On 1/19/19 at approximately 10:34 p.m., a deputy was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center. The deputy was in the process of booking an inmate who arrived on the transport van to the Gilpin County Jail and discovered that the inmate had several warrants that had not been located. The inmate was processed and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 1/19/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway. A party in the vehicle presented a fraudulent Mexico Identification card to the deputy. The male party was later arrested for a warrant and for presenting the fraudulent ID.
On 1/19/19 an inmate in custody at the Gilpin County Jail was found to have two new active warrants. The inmate was booked in on the warrants.
On 1/19/19 a deputy responded to Gregory Street and Spring Street for the report of a semi-truck that had hit a stop sign.
On 1/19/19 a deputy was dispatched to Mineshaft Mercantile located at 70 Main Street, Gilpin County, Rollinsville, on a report of found property containing other peoples mail and possible drug paraphernalia. The backpack was processed into evidence as found property and a report was later completed.
On 1/19/19 a Gilpin County deputy responded to the 2100 block of Upper Apex Valley Road on a reported slide off. Upon arrival, the vehicle had been pulled out of the snowy ditch by a good Samaritan. The driver of the vehicle noticed a flat tire, so the deputy provided traffic control until the spare tire was attached. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license, no current proof of insurance, and had open containers of marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver was issued a summons.
On 1/19/19 at approximately 7:05 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy performed a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lawrence Street, in Central City. The vehicle was determined to have fictitious plates and the driver was unable to provide any proof of insurance. The driver was issued a summons and told not to drive the vehicle until it was registered and insured. The license plate was seized as evidence and the vehicle was red tagged.
On 1/19/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a revoked license.
On 1/20/19 a deputy arrested a party. A counterfeit $100 bill was located in his pants pocket.
On 1/20/19 at approximately 3:10 p.m., a male party came to the Gilpin County Sheriffs Office for visitation. His license was discovered to be Canceled/Denied. The license was returned to the Department of Revenue, and he was issued a proof of service. On 1/20/19 at approximately 9:26 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop near the 500 block of Gregory Street, Central City. The driver was found to have a cancelled/denied license. A summons was issued to the driver.
On 1/20/19 dispatch advised that Colorado State Patrol was attempting to contact a white sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry, that was west bound on Highway 6, in unincorporated Jefferson County, traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was then seen heading northbound on Highway 119 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was then observed speeding at mile marker 5.8 and failed to stop for officers. The vehicle was later found in Black Hawk and the driver was arrested.
On 1/21/19 a deputy contacted a party for a welfare check. The party did not have a valid drivers license and was issued a proof of service.
On 1/21/19 at approximately 3:42 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy performed a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lawrence Street. The driver of the vehicle was confirmed to be a double habitual traffic offender with a revoked driver’s license. The driver admitted there was no insurance policy for his vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail without incident.
On 1/21/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for not having headlights when required. The driver of the vehicle had a warrant and was taken into custody.
On 1/22/19 a vehicle eluded a state trooper on Highway 119 at mile marker 1.0. Approximately 30 minutes later, the vehicle almost struck a deputy in a stationary patrol vehicle who was working on a separate incident. The vehicle again attempted to elude law enforcement. A vehicle pursuit ensued through Central City, Black Hawk and into Golden on Highway 6. A tactical vehicle intervention maneuver was performed by Colorado State Patrol and the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
On 1/22/19 at approximately 8:21 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy responded to a motor vehicle accident at the Division of Gaming parking lot in Central City. An Allied Waste garbage truck lost control and slid through the intersection of E. First High Street and Church Street. The garbage truck struck the end of the guard rail and continued over the embankment. The garbage truck rolled down the hill and landed on its wheels in the Division of Gaming parking lot. A Division of Gaming vehicle which was unoccupied was crushed in the event. The driver of the garbage truck was transported to the hospital for his injuries.
On 1/22/19 at approximately 6 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to take a report of a lost wallet. The wallet was lost near the 200 block of Lodge Pole Drive. A report was taken.
On 1/22/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for a felony warrant for parole violation out of the Colorado Department of Corrections, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a handgun by a previously convicted felon, driving while revoked as a habitual traffic offender and violation of a protection order.
On 1/23/19 a female party arrived at the Sheriffs Office to turn herself in on a warrant. A deputy located an active warrant for the female party, and she was booked into the jail.
On 1/23/19 at 1:06 p.m. an adult female was arrested on three fugitive of justice warrants and booked in to the Gilpin County Jail. On 1/25/19 at 2:25 a.m., a deputy took a report of a missing person from the 2700 block of Robinson Hill Road, unincorporated Gilpin County. The party was located several hours later in good health.
On 1/25/19 at approximately 2:47 a.m., a deputy responded to the Central City Parkway for a vehicle stopped in the roadway. The vehicle was later discovered on Lake Gulch Road and the driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
On 1/25/19 at approximately 11:42 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy performed a traffic stop in the 300 block of Lawrence Street in Central City. During the stop, the driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license. The deputy issued a summons and told the driver not to drive the vehicle.
On 1/25/19 at 12:27 p.m., a male party was arrested on four fugitive of justice warrants, without incident and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 1/25/19 at 1:52 p.m., an adult female was arrested on a fugitive of justice warrant out of Adams County Sheriffs Office. She was held on the warrant with a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
On 1/25/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle and the driver was believed to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was taken into custody for further DUI investigation.
On 1/25/19 at 7:40 p.m., a deputy responded to the 200 block of Long Trail Road, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of a possible protection order violation. Investigation revealed that a case could not be proven at this point. A report was taken.
On 1/25/19 deputies responded to an address on Seldom Seen Road on the report of an assault in-progress.
On 1/26/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway. The driver was issued a summons for driving while license under restraint and an expired temporary permit.
On 1/26/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on level one of the Grand Z Casino Parking Garage. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of methamphetamine, possession of phycobilin, possession of LSD (Acid), no insurance and using fictitious number license plates.
On 1/26/19 a resident of the 100 block of Wallens Place, in Black Hawk, called to report an accident from the previous evening. The resident reported at approximately 10 p.m. the previous evening that a sedan had slid off the road onto their property and ended up on/near their septic. The vehicle was towed off the property. It was never reported to law enforcement. The resident was concerned about possible damage to his septic. A Gilpin County deputy was able to track down the vehicle/driver and issue a summons for not reporting the accident.
On 1/27/19 a deputy arrested a male party in the Grand Z Casino for a warrant out of Gilpin County.
On 1/27/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Red Dolly Casino parking lot. The driver was issued a summons for driving while revoked for two DUIs.
On 1/27/19 at approximately 5:16 p.m., two off-duty GCSO deputies encountered two parties suspected of stealing timber from the Colorado State Parks. They contacted and identified the parties, photographed evidence and released them to pass on the information to the rangers for disposition.
On 1/27/19 a deputy was attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving northbound in the southbound lane of Highway 119. The vehicle later crashed on South Beaver Creek Road and Bowles Ranch Road. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for DUI.
On 1/29/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was arrested for three warrants. The driver was also issued a summons for driving on a revoked license.
On 1/27/19 at approximately 5:37 p.m., a deputy responded to the 2900 block of Bald Mountain Road, Central City, on the report of a motor vehicle accident. After an investigation, the situation was determined to be a criminal trespass with an abandoned vehicle. A report was taken.
On 1/29/19 at approximately 9:20 p.m., deputies responded to a residential address in Black Hawk to attempt to locate a male party for an outstanding arrest warrant. The male party was later located and placed under arrest for the active warrant.
On 1/30/19 at approximately 4 p.m., a female party arrived at the Gilpin County Courthouse with an active out-of-county warrant.
On 1/30/19 a deputy located an active warrant for a current inmate. The inmate was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.
On 1/31/19 at approximately 2:28 p.m., a reporting party called the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to report several fraudulent online charges on her credit card. A deputy responded to her residence to take a report.
