Pumpkin Decorating Contest: Open to all ages! No carved pumpkins, only exterior decoration. Pumpkins must represent a book or movie character. Voting by the staff and public will begin October 29. Winners announced at noon on October 31. This competition is being hosted by the Gilpin County Public Library, located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Central City Creepy Crawl: Sponsored by the Gilpin Historical Society. Join us for our annual pentalogy of creepy tales from Gilpin County's past. Begins at 6:30 p.m. each night, with a new tour group departing every half hour until 8:30 p.m. Tickets $18.65 in advance or $20 at the door. Spooky Stroll: Play carnival games, dare to take a walk through the haunted barn, and trick or treat! We will sell $5 wristbands at the event for carnival games. 90% of the money will be split between the Gilpin County School student-represented groups. 5 to 9 p.m. at 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk.
Pumpkin Carving Party: It's the annual pumpkin carving party! Bring your pumpkin, we'll have carving tools! Prize for best carved! 6 to 8 p.m., Very Nice Brewing Gilpin Tap Room, 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.
Trunk or Treat: Sign up to decorate and trunk by emailing @helpatschools.org. 5 to 7 p.m. at Nederland Elementary School, located at #1 North Sundance Trail, Nederland.

20th Annual Gory Gilpin Grocers Neighborhood Event: Haunted House at 11 a.m., BBQ at 12 p.m., and Trick or Treat at 1 p.m., located at 32 South Dory Lakes Drive, Black Hawk.
Howl at the Moon Fundraiser: Friends of Charlie’s Place Annual Fundraiser. Halloween extravaganza with music, dancing, food, costume contest. 6 to 10 p.m., Idaho Springs Elks Lodge, 1600 Colorado Boulevard, Idaho Springs.
Halloween Ned: Haunted house, carnival games and photo corner! Magic show with Doc Murdock at 2 p.m.. $4 for kids walking age and up, $2 for each additional kid, adults are free. $1 for four game tickets. 12 to 2:30 p.m. at the TEENS, Inc. Center located at 151 East Street, Nederland.

Spooky Face n’ Fangs: Great for tweens and teens! Join us for an afternoon of fun with special effects make-up and face-paint. All ages are welcome, but please be aware for our younger audiences that we’ll be playing with scar, wound, and gore effects as well as regular face paint. Come and let our artists make you up or try out your own skill with our supplies! 1 to 3 p.m., Nederland Community Library, 200 Highway 72 North, Nederland.
Halloween Magical Maze: Halloween Party Open House at Gold Hill School! Food and fun in an experiential environment. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 891 Main Street, Gold Hill.
