Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. It was a big day for seven little graduates. The Aspen Grove Preschool on-their-way-to- kindergarten students stood in the spotlight of the Stage Stop Inn and received accolades for their work in their last step before going on to Nederland Elementary School.

Before the graduates received their preschool diplomas, the whole school performed for their parents, singing their own version of the Button Song which is also an exercise in math. With a little prompting, the kiddos subtracted adeptly as they demonstrated the buttons popping off their clothes.
In the past year, the children learned about super-heroes, with a focus on being good friends. They then moved into their rendition of Little Bunny Foo Foo, with a gentle lesson about not being a bully.
Each child has dreams of who they will be when they grow up. These ambitions include: a police office, a power ranger, an artist, a puppy detective and Felix Toorenburg said that when he grows up, he will be an adult.
The six preschoolers who will be in kindergarten next year are: Luke Gilmour, Ronin Whitaker, Maisie Schaub, Finley Giblin, Brisbane Gatos and Felix Toorenburg.
