Kayla Marr is one of graduating seniors at Gilpin County High School. Kayla began going to Gilpin School in preschool, but then left a few years later. In 7th grade Kayla returned and finished middle and high school at Gilpin.
Some of Kayla’s fondest memories in school come from Gilpin’s elementary program, in particular her 2nd grade year. This could have contributed to Kayla now planning to go to Grand Canyon University to get a bachelor’s degree and pursue her dream to become an elementary teacher.
Kayla was a Gilpin Eagle volleyball player all four years of high school. More recently in her junior and senior years she was a high school boys basketball manager. Kayla really loved being a manager for the team and claimed it was her favorite part of high school since “there is never a dull moment.”
Kayla is a people person, she loves to interact with people and make friends. This is what kept Kayla attending Gilpin and what she will miss most when she leaves. Some of Kayla’s favorite people are; her boyfriend, Ezra Williams, Skylee and Faith Ramsey, her favorite teacher Mrs. Vanhoose, and Makenzie Marr. While Kayla will miss all her friends she really looks forward to graduating and pursuing her dream career.
