The Gilpin County School District RE-1 school board election this November will feature six candidates vying for three Director-At-Large 4-year terms. The Mountain-Ear is covering the election with a bottom-up approach (thecitizensagenda.org) by compiling a list of questions based on citizen input and emailing a questionnaire to the candidates to get their responses. The questionnaire asked the candidates for biographical information and their views on a series of issues pertinent to the school district. Five out of six candidates responded.
The RE-1 Board of Education will host an in-person Candidate Public Forum on Wednesday October 11, 2023, at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium.
