Gilpin County Public Library hosted a Pumpkin Decorating Contest from October 2 to the 29. The event was open to all ages. Exterior decorated pumpkins had to represent a book or movie character.

Due to their inability to last a long time, no carved pumpkins were allowed, but real pumpkins, gourds, and plastic pumpkins were allowed following specific guidelines. Participants could enter any decorated pumpkin in the contest, using any materials to decorate them to create an original and unique pumpkin.

The staff and public began voting for their favorite on October 30. At noon on October 31, winners were announced. Pumpkin entries were creative, making it challenging to choose a winner.

Winners were chosen by family entries, allowing more than one child to be a winner. First-place winners received a $50 Amazon gift card, while second-place and third-place winners received a $25 Amazon gift card.

Congratulations to all participants! Your community thanks you for sharing your creativity.
