On 3/1/19 at 4:04 a.m., a deputy responded to the Grand Z casino parking garage to check the welfare of a male party occupying a motor vehicle. The same male party was later arrested for charges related to DUI and violation of a protection order.
On 03/1/19 at approximately 3:30 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy working their assigned shift at the Gilpin County Courts took a male party into custody on a warrant without incident.
On 03/1/19 a citizen called in a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately Report (R.E.D.D.I.) on Highway 119. A deputy located the vehicle, which was unable to maintain a single lane. The driver was later arrested for felony DUI at over three times the legal limit.
On 3/2/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A DUI investigation was conducted, and the driver was subsequently arrested. A report was later completed.
On 3/4/19 at approximately 5:51 p.m., a deputy responded in front of Johnny Z`s Casino on the report of a verbal disturbance between a man and a woman. The woman was found to have a warrant and to be in possession of narcotics. The woman was arrested, and a report was made.
On 3/5/19 at approximately 3:45 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to recover a counterfeit $20 bill at the Century Casino and Hotel. The counterfeit bill was recovered. It was processed and forwarded to the United States Secret Service per their procedures. A case report was completed.
On 3/5/19 a deputy responded to the 200 block of Hooper Street, Central City, on the report of illegal campers. One of the parties camping was found to have a warrant. That party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/6/19 at 6:03 p.m., a person came to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office and reported an assault which occurred in the 200 block of Jankowski Drive, unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.
On 3/7/19 at about 8:44 p.m., deputies responded to the 900 block of S. Dory Lakes Drive on an assault in-progress. After an investigation, a male party was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/8/19 a deputy conducted a welfare check on two parties in the 100 block of Lawrence Street., Central City. During the welfare check, drugs were located, and the male party was arrested. A report was later completed.
On 3/8/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for having an expired license plate. The occupants of the vehicle had a restraining order in addition to several warrants.
On 3/9/19 a deputy responded to an address off of South Beaver Creek Road, on the report of a truck crashed in a private driveway. The driver was later determined and was arrested on a DUI.
On 3/10/19 a deputy observed an unknown situation occur on Lawrence Street. It was later determined to be a disturbance between a male and female. The male party was arrested for possession of cocaine, DUI and driving while license revoked as a habitual traffic offender.
On 3/13/19 at approximately 6:48 p.m., a deputy located a potentially missing party in Central City. A death investigation was later completed, and a report was generated to document the incident.
On 3/15/19 Colorado State Patrol, Black Hawk Police, Gilpin County Sheriff, Black Hawk Fire and Gilpin Ambulance Authority responded to the Coyote Motel on a possible heroin overdose.
On 3/15/19 a deputy conducted a welfare check on a vehicle at the Sasquatch Gas Station on the Central City Parkway. A male party in the vehicle was arrested for a felony warrant out of Gilpin and will receive additional charges for possession of a controlled substance.
On 3/16/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was arrested for DUI and possession of methamphetamine.
On 3/17/19 a deputy was traveling to the Gilpin Jail with a DUI arrestee. During the transport, the deputy observed a vehicle failing to maintain a single lane. The deputy advised other officers of the vehicle and a traffic stop was later conducted by Black Hawk Police Department. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 3/17/19 deputies responded to a report of a rolling disturbance that was traveling westbound on Highway 46. Deputy located the vehicle and determined no disturbance had occurred; however, the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and booked into jail for a DUI.
On 3/18/19 at approximately 7:33 p.m., a deputy was conducting a residential check in the 100 block of Casey Street, Central City. It was determined the residence had been burglarized. A report was taken, and deputies have opened an investigation.
On 3/19/19 an officer took a phone report of criminal mischief to the tunnel on lower Highway 119. There is no suspect information.
On 3/20/19 a party turned a gun in to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office.
On 3/21/19 a deputy received a report of harassment in the 10 block of Evergreen Road in unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was completed.
On 3/23/19 at approximately 9:14 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy performed a traffic stop and contacted a vehicle behind the Coyote Motel. Occupants of the vehicle acted very suspicious and nervous. Upon a clearance, driver was determined to have a denied driver`s license and was on probation for controlled substances. The passenger of the vehicle wanted to leave but was told he could not. The passenger exited the vehicle and a pat down search for weapons was conducted. Two knives, a set of metallic knuckles and drug paraphernalia was found. In an attempt to discard, the passenger threw methamphetamines on the ground. The passenger was arrested and eventually so was the driver. Several controlled substances were found during a search of the persons and the vehicle. Both parties were transported to the Gilpin County Jail and the vehicle was impounded.
On 3/24/19 a deputy was asked to respond to a shooting complaint on Emory Road. The driver of the vehicle was intoxicated, and the passenger had previous felony charges. Both parties were taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/25/19 at approximately 12:48 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop near the 500 block of Main Street in Black Hawk. The driver was found to be driving with a suspended license. A passenger in the vehicle was found to have a warrant for his arrest. Both parties were booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 3/25/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville. The driver was issued a summons for DUI.
On 3/26/19 at approximately 9 a.m., a deputy responded to the County Court Room for a male party with an active warrant out of Denver Marshal`s Office. The male party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.
On 3/26/19 a deputy took a phone report of fraud. The victim was involved in a telephone scam.
On 3/26/19 at approximately 3:20 p.m., a deputy responded to a campground in Central City on a report of a party that had left without paying for a campsite. The deputy completed a report and the case was forwarded to the Investigations Division for possible charges.
On 3/27/19 at approximately 12:10 p.m., a deputy completed a compliance check of a residential marijuana grow. The property was found to be out of compliance of Gilpin County Ordinance 17-01 and state law. The responsible party was given one week to bring the property into compliance.
On 3/28/19 at approximately 10:09 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy contacted two parties on level 3 inside of the Century parking garage located at 111 Lawrence Street. The male party was determined to have two felony warrants and a suspended driver`s license. The female party was also determined to have a suspended driver`s license. A search of the vehicle unveiled approximately 1.5 grams of methamphetamine. The male party was arrested on his warrants and for possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Gilpin County Jail without incident. The female was issued a Proof of Service.
On 3/30/19 around 1:15 pm, a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 3000 block of Highway 119 for not having a front license plate attached. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for a DUI and possession of an open alcohol container.
On 3/31/19 at approximately 1:50 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of C Street and Lawrence Street, in Central City. The vehicle had a significantly cracked windshield. Driver and passenger were both determined to have revoked drivers licenses. They were told to arrange for transportation and a friend came and got them. The driver was released with a summons.
On 3/31/19 a deputy was contacted by a party that requested the Sheriff`s Office take several of his firearms for safe keeping. The deputy took possession of the weapons and logged them into evidence for safe keeping.
