On 5/1/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a party that had an active warrant that the deputy could not arrest because of Covid restrictions.
On 5/1/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a canceled license and failing to present evidence of insurance.
On 5/2/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded on the report of a dog at large. The dog was later reunited with its owner and the owner was issued a summons.
On 5/2/20, a deputy took a report of a stolen vehicle from a victim residing on Pewabic Mountain Rd. The case is active and still under investigation.
On 5/2/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of drug paraphernalia found at a residence on S Beaver Creek Rd. The items were booked into evidence to be destroyed.
On 5/2/20, a Gilpin County deputy found a storage shed forced open at the Gilpin County School. A case report was later completed.
On 5/3/20, a Gilpin County deputy stopped a vehicle on Bobtail Hill for an equipment violation. The driver was found to have a canceled driver’s license, was violating the public health order which restricts non-county residents to travel on county roads and had a felony warrant out of Boulder County. The driver was issued a summons and was told to take care of the warrant.
On 5/5/20, a vehicle was stopped at Mammoth Gulch Rd and Tolland Rd for violating Public Health Order by driving on Tolland road. Driver was found to be under restraint. A summons was issued.
On 5/6/20, a Gilpin County deputy assisted Empire Police Department and Clear Creek County Sheriff`s Office with pursuit involving a felony menacing suspect into Central City. The suspect was apprehended in Gilpin County and a report was later completed.
On 5/8/20, Timberline Fire Department, Gilpin Ambulance Authority, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Central City Public Works and Gilpin County Sheriff assisted with a search and rescue on Elk Park Road. Two parties were extracted and are in stable condition. Both parties were issued a summons for violation of a health order, which was specifically implemented to prevent exhausting resources.
On 5/9/20, Gilpin County deputies responded to the 800 block of Vernon Dr., Central City, on the report of a break in. A party was later placed into custody and transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
On 5/10/20 a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to Coyote Circle, Black Hawk, on a report of a violation of protection order. A report was later completed.
On 5/10/20, an individual eluded a Gilpin County deputy in his vehicle and on foot in the Dory Lakes subdivision. The driver was taken into custody a couple hours later and released pending charges.
On 5/11/20, an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.
On 5/12/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic-stop in the 7900 block of the Central City Parkway. A summons and a proof of service was issued.
On 5/14/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a burglary report from a business on Lake Gulch Rd in Gilpin County.
On 5/15/20, Gilpin County deputies responded to the report of a suspicious person attempting to enter a shed and going through a toolbox on another property.
On 5/16/20, a male party arrived at the Sheriff’s office to turn himself in on a warrant. A deputy located an active warrant for the male party and he was booked into the jail.
On 5/17/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of a cold criminal trespass. The reporting party had suspect information. The case is still under investigation.
On 5/17/20, Gilpin County Sheriff’s office took a report via email regarding a harassment which occurred in the 500 block of Old Hughesville Road.
On 5/19/20, a Gilpin County deputy spoke with a citizen who reported his business banking account had been compromised.
On 5/20/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to Missouri Gulch Road on a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was later determined to be a stolen vehicle.
On 5/21/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a report of a missing person. A report was completed.
On 5/21/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a trespass. Upon arrival, the suspect was on the highway right of way. Once the deputy cleared the suspect, he was found to have an active warrant out of Boulder County. Boulder County was contacted and advised they could take custody of the suspect. The party was arrested and transported to Nederland.
On 5/22/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of a possible stalking incident of a juvenile on Mica Road.
On 5/23/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Spring St in Central City on a report of a non-injury property damage only Motor Vehicle Accident. A male party was cited for his driving actions and a case report was completed.
On 5/25/20, Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to a traffic complaint in the 6000 block of Colorado Highway 46. Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Hwy 46. After further investigation, the male party operating a motorcycle was cited for Reckless Driving. A case report was completed.
On 5/25/20, a Gilpin County deputy made a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Highway 119 in unincorporated Gilpin County. The driver was found to be driving without a valid driver’s license. The deputy issued a summons.
On 5/26/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted three parties in approximately the 200 block of Academy Street, Central City. One of the parties was found to have an active extraditable warrant. Due to the Gilpin County Jail`s current acceptance policy, the party was advised to take care of the warrant at a later date and was released. A report was later completed.
On 5/26/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a citizen regarding a report of a trespass and theft incident that occurred on said citizen`s property.
On 5/26/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a party near the 200 block of Rocky Ridge Rd in Black Hawk. The party presented the deputy with a Commercial Driver’s License which was cancelled. The party was served a proof of service, and his license was seized.
On 5/24/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Sheriff’s Office, 2960 Dory Hill Road for the report of a trespass.
On 5/27/20, a Gilpin County deputy was driving on Main Street in Rollinsville when they observed a party with an Attempted Murder warrant. The party was contacted and taken into custody with no problems. A report was made.
On 5/28/20, a male party housed in the Gilpin County Jail was placed on an M1 hold. The male party was released to the Gilpin County Paramedics to be transported for a medical evaluation.
On 5/28/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 8000 block of the Central City Parkway for a reported motor-vehicle crash.
On 5/30/20, a Gilpin County deputy stopped a vehicle for displaying expired number plates. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license.
On 5/30/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted four parties trespassing private property on south Highway 119. Two parties were issued summons.
On 5/31/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a report of cold Criminal Mischief. A case report was completed.
On 5/31/20, Gilpin County deputies responded to a parking lot by the KOA Campground in Central City on a report of a possible attempted kidnapping. The investigation revealed no crime had occurred; however, one of the parties on a scene had an active warrant for their arrest. Because of Covid-19 restrictions, no arrest was made.
