On January 19th, 2016 a deputy contacted a vehicle for a traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle was found to be driving under restraint.  A summons was issued to the driver, the passenger was also under restraint and a friend was called to pick the 2 up.  Vehicle left on scene for a valid driver.  End of report.

On January 20, 2016 a female party arrived at the Gilpin County Court and was found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of the Denver Marshal`s Office.  she was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

On January 20, 2016 at approximately 1500 hours a deputy was dispatched to a report of telephone harassment which occurred in the 200 block of Dudes Dr. in Rollinsville, CO 80474. The reporting party wanted to speak to a deputy via telephone. A deputy contacted the reporting party via telephone and a report was subsequently completed. End of report.

On January 20, 2016 at approximately 1615 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a report of suspicious property found on privately owned land located in the 1800 block of Bald Mountain Road, Central City, CO 80427 in unincorporated Gilpin County. After identifying who the property belonged to, several attempts were made to contact the owner of the property. After two days of attempting to locate the owner of the recovered property, the owner contacted the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office advising of their welfare and reasoning the property was left at the found location. The owner of the found property did not wish to have their property returned. The property was later returned to a relative. End of report.

On January 28, 2016 an inmate located in the Gilpin County Jail was found to have a new active warrant issued for his arrest.  The inmate was processed on the new case without incident.

On January 21st 2016 at approximately 1515 hrs, a deputy was dispatched to the area of Snowline Lake on an animal problem.  The r/p`s dog had been attacked by another dog.  The offender and his dog were later contacted and issued a summons.  End of report.

On Thursday, January 28, 2016, at approximately 1809 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 1300 Block of Lump Gulch Road, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado, regarding an unresponsive party.  The deputy arrived on scene at the same time as the Gilpin County Ambulance Authority.  The paramedics checked the unresponsive party`s vital signs, contacted an Emergency Room Doctor at St. Anthony`s Hospital, who pronounced the party to be deceased.  A case report was later completed.

On January 20, 2016 at approximately 0930 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief which occurred in the area of Apex Valley Road and State Highway 119 in Black Hawk, CO located within unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was subsequently completed. End of report.

On January 21, 2016 at approximately 1500 hours, abandoned property was discovered in the jail property room. The property was left by an inmate that no longer resided in the Gilpin County jail and was booked into evidence for destruction.

On January 23rd, 2016 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for passing on left when prohibited by signs/markings. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

On January 24, 2016 a deputy took a report of a missing person. The party was located in the Denver Metro area.
