Last year, the Gilpin High School girls had a great winning season, taking their District Championship. They had tight-knit starters coupled with experience and talent. At the end of the year, they lost many seniors, including Alyssa Chareunsouk, Delainey Lepro, Ariel Planck and Stephanie Siegrist.

It is now time for the younger girls to step up and carry on the Eagle basketball tradition. The varsity and junior varsity teams have 15 players, some of whom were members of the volleyball team and are in great shape to hit the courts.

The varsity team consists of: Jada Gohdes, Keely Schmidt, Khristine Barr, Annabel Diekman, Cicely Lepro and Berkley Davis. The Junior Varsity is Katelyn Armstrong, Kristi Schmidt, Shania Gonzales, Trystin Swan, Skylar Murdock, Carlota Saez, Carly Johnson, Aspen Nadeau and Courtney Holmes.

The first home game will be against Clear Creek on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 5:30 and 7 p.m.
