COAL CREEK CANYON - Coal Creek Canyon residents and families packed the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association Hall on February 15, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m for their Annual Valentine’s Day pancake breakfast. More than 50 people attended the event.
The menu included eggs, sausage, juice, and coffee and cost $11 for members, $13 for non-members, and $6 for children.
Bruce Goodwin organized the event. Janice Batt sold tickets, and Suzy Schemel filled in. In the kitchen, Bruce Tansy helped serve. Moe Drouillard made pancakes, together with his brothers Tommy and Chuck.
Cub Scouts helped serve and clean up, according to Pack Committee Chair Eric Dropps. Busy scouts Austin Wuelling and James Cooper took a break from serving to sit down for a few minutes. According to Cubmaster Karen Dropps, the pack has 20 scouts and meets the first Wednesday of every month at the CCIA Hall.
Student Mathew Tapply had a door stop and a heating pad for sale, both for $20.
Schemel said the CCCIA has been putting on this event “forever….It’s been a long time,” she said.
The next event at the Hall will be for Mardi Gras, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 1.
