COAL CREEK CANYON - The Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association hosted a full day of activities for the July 4 Celebration, on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CCCIA Hall. The theme for the event was Red, White, & Blue.
The celebration began with the pancake breakfast featuring pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee, and juice. By 9 a.m. a line of customers snaked out of the Hall door.
Bruce Goodwin, chief cook and bottle washer, said he estimated that about 125 to 150 people attended. All funds raised went for scholarships.
Cooks and servers included Tatum and Ken Fisher and Andy Wapiennice. Vendor booths opened at 9 a.m.
The parade followed at about 10:30 a.m. It led from Tunnel 19 Road along Gross Dam Road to the CCCIA Hall.
For the rest of the day, attendees enjoyed live music, games, a delicious all-American lunch, beers, and sodas. Local vendors were in attendance, selling their art, crafts, wellness products, and more. There was live music and games for all ages including a cornhole tournament.
The event ended at 2 p.m.
