Claudette Jean Wise 2/27/41 to 8/19/18

On Sunday, August 19, 2018 Claudette Jean Wise, Tuxhorn, loving mother of six children, passed away at the age of 77 at her home in Clifton, CO.


She was born February 27, 1941 in Appleton, CO. She grew up in Nederland, CO spent her Jr. year in H.S. in Victorville, CA. She graduated from Nederland H.S. in 1959, then attended CMU in Grand Junction, CO as a freshman in 1960. She lived in Boulder, CO in the early 60’s. She moved to northern CA in ‘63-‘70, spent a few years in Hawaii, some time in FL and back to Colorado. She worked many years waitressing, had a lengthy career at City Market and Albertson’s, where she retired in 2007.


Claudette had an adventurous spirit, she loved to travel. In her younger years she traveled to the coasts of CA and WA, as well as spending time in OH and NY. She went to Europe a few times, traveling to England and France, and even went on a cruise. She loved her friends and family more than anything and traveled far and wide to visit them. She loved family get-togethers, the outdoors, animals, children and music. She had a determined demeanor & soul, some might say, even a little stubborn. A passionate woman of strong spiritual, moral with compassionate convictions and values, she would give to anyone in need and always had advice, interesting perspectives of life and living, or an opinion to offer.


Claudette was preceded in death by her father, Claude, and her mother, Elizabeth, as well as 2 siblings. She is survived by her six children, George, Warren, Sam, Mary, Jason and CJ, 13 grand children, 1 great grandson, 6 siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.


A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, September 15, 2018.
