Cadence has been attending Chinook West in Nederland for two years. She is a junior and has worked very hard taking as many credits as possible and will be graduating this spring.
Cadence came to Nederland from Longmont when her family heard about Chinook from a family friend. She has appreciated the hands on learning approach and the small class sizes.
She loves to travel, ski and climb. The climbing classes have been her favorite part about Chinook. Teachers Tom Holmquist and Alex Zachrel taught her to climb and have been both inspirational to Cadence and have encouraged her to take healthy risks.
TYC Director, Suzie Muldoon has also been a mentor for Cadence. She says that Suzie helped her with college applications and with her school work. Cadence speaks about Suzie so warmly, “She’s such a kind and sweet person. She dances like no one is watching and I inspire to be as free as her.”
Cadence will be attending Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs to study Ski and Snowboard Business. She will be continuing her love for climbing every chance she gets and her love for skiing as a career. Good Luck, Cadence! I hope you get to see the world from the best powder runs and the steepest rock faces.
