Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County. So far, the Gilpin County Adult Co-ed Softball team has managed to play all scheduled league games. Summer evenings have been doable for the most part.

In the first week, the Blue Sox won both of their double header games, downing the Gillbillies 13-8 and the Blue Sox 12-6.
The Gillbillies beat the A-CERS and Eldora, who took up first and last place with a 0-2 record.
That all changed in the second week of play, however. On Tuesday, June 5, 2018 the A-CERS punched Eldora, 14-3 and then ran over the Blue Sox, 13-2, getting into the groove.
In the Thursday game, the Gillbillies beat Eldora, 14-10 and then the Blue Sox skipped past the Gillbillies, 10-7.
A week ago Tuesday, June 12, Eldora played a double header. Losing to the Blue Sox, 12-1 and the A-CERS, 19-3. In the second game, the Blue Sox grabbed another win against the Gillbillies, 11-6, who then lost to the A-CERS, a close 11-10.
In the third week of play, the standings are:
1. A-CERS, 5-1
2. Blue Sox, 5-1
3. Hillbillies, 2-4
4. Eldora, 0-6
The A-CERS are heading into mid-season neck to neck with the Blue Sox. The big margin is at the bottom of rankings and the games should heat up with only four more weeks to go.
