NEDERLAND - The Nederland Elementary PTA held their annual Halloween Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 25, in the Nederland Elementary School (NES) parking lot.
This popular event each year is a fun community gathering for Ned kids. Costumes always range from the cute to the creepy and the very creative.
Each year it is always heartwarming to see the Nederland Fire Protection District, Boulder County Sheriff’s Department, Nederland Middle-Senior High School, and the US Forest Service eagerly participating in the excitement in order to connect with the kids and their families.
Approximately 25 vehicles (including a fire truck and a small bus) were decorated in fantastic themes. The shady, imaginative, or otherwise grotesquely costumed helpers handed out treats to the many shiny-eyed children who ambled around in their clever costumes.
Kids in the community love this event, as it is an extra time to be preen in their Halloween costumes and socialize with their friends over bags of loot. Parents also often come dressed in costume, using the event as a time to visit with their friends and admire their kids’ fancy dress (and maybe sneak a chocolate or two).
Happy Halloween!
