The meetings of the Golden Gate Fire District, your neighbors, are covered monthly by The Mountain-Ear. However, the important issue of the last year has been totally overlooked. According to CORA, Colorado Open Records Act, all financials of the district should be available for the public.
Two elected officials on the board were not allowed access until they obtained a lawyer at the Colorado Freedom of Information Coalition. Here is the point: be careful who you vote for, the current president and vice president don't want you to know what they are doing with your tax money.
