Elementary school age children in the Peak to Peak region are invited to participate in a free Summer Day Camp Monday, June 13 – Thursday, June 16. The camp will be held each day from 9 a.m. to noon and is presented by the Nederland Community Presbyterian Church and Calvary Chapel. Camp activities will be held outside in the garden adjacent to the Presbyterian Church at 210 N. Jefferson Street in Nederland. Activities will be moved inside the church if there is inclement weather. All children entering grades K-5 next fall are welcome regardless of their religious affiliation.
The camp will be led by representatives of the Highlands Presbyterian Camp. The camp theme for this summer is “Living Life to Its Fullest.” In the ecumenical program, children will enjoy Bible stories, worship, crafts, singing, games, environmental education, and a service project. Middle and high school students are encouraged to volunteer to serve as helpers and can earn community service hours in the process. Adult supervision will be provided by members of the sponsoring churches.
“We are pleased to be able to once again present a summer vacation Bible school- style experience for the children in our community,” said Nederland Community Presbyterian Church Christian Education Elder Cinda Kochen. “Restrictions in place during the pandemic prevented this type of activities so we are now happy to be able to resume this fun summer program for our youth.”
The camp registration form is available on the Nederland Community Presbyterian Church website at nederlandcpc.org. There is no charge for the camp.
Questions can be addressed to Cinda Kochen via email at cinda.kochen@ gmail.com. Signed and completed registration forms must be returned to the church by Wednesday, June 8.
