The Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Gallery was opened in the late fall of 2021 by Roz Bagtaz, who shares, “The Gallery employs five Nederland locals encouraging art to be made during hours as well as offering classes by artists shown.”
The gallery boasts the talent of 40 artists, with half of them from the Peak to Peak region. Art ranges from pottery, stained glass, hand-blown glass, fused glass, to quilts, crochet, weaving, woodwork, jewelry, leather work, photography, alcohol ink, acrylic, and oil paintings.
After the passing of Bagtaz’s husband, she returned to Nederland to purchase a cabin and settle her heart. She wanted to offer the community something she felt was special and needed. “Knowing Nederland’s way of being home to a colorful range of artists, Kaleidoscope was created.”
As with most galleries, there’s a process for artist selection. Bagtaz says, “All artists must live in Colorado, with preferences given to artists in the Peak to Peak region. We truly want to showcase local artists.”
Bagtaz and Gallery Manager Danielle Crouse choose art that is of “high quality and that we think will appeal to our customers, both local and visiting.”
During The Mountain-Ear’s Peak to Peak Studio Tour, Kaleidoscope invited artists to share more of their work and their creative process by setting up art tables and easels. The gallery is hosting its Fall in the Rockies Art Show on September 22.
“It’s a great opportunity to give all proceeds to the participating artists during events like this and our Summer 4th Fridays.”
One artist expresses, “I appreciate being part of the group of artists showcased at the Kaleidoscope Gallery. It is a real joy! The Kaleidoscope reaches our delightful local community as well as visitors who stop and enjoy our beautiful Nederland. Well done, Roz and Danielle!” says Kathy Bremers.
Bagtaz says the gallery is everchanging and welcoming new artists, confessing, “It is exciting, as we are getting more well known in the community, that we have artists coming to us to consider their work.”
Bagtaz believes “we have created a wonderful community here and enjoy getting to know our artists on a personal level,” expressing her gratitude “for the support of our talented artists, and we hope to be here to showcase their work for a long time!”
