I turn up a back road
to try and get around
some construction
and suddenly I am lost
in a place
where I have lived
for most of my life
what a strange thing
there are new houses
new views of the mountains

of a buzzing sort of wonder

or anything
not all the way
I’d felt so sure
there were no surprises left
in the paths I take
all the time
but there I was
somewhere completely
next time you’re feeling stuck
or bored or really anything else
try getting lost
there’s so much yet to find
