and they were both pink and
framed by mountains
and plains grass
and puddles of snowmelt
which themselves
cause the color of the sky
turning pink and blue and white

I guess I’m lucky today
in that I’ve watched

it really feels like
things are falling apart
the news couldn’t have always
seemed this bad
I almost can’t bare it
I don’t know what to do
and there’s nobody
who seems to say different
even my grandma says
it’s worse than ever
that she feels bad
for my generation
for this mess we’ve been left
but in these few minutes
as the sun and its colors
has come and gone
I’ve thought of nothing else
