Have you ever stood on the top of the
world
And viewed the mountains of God,
Where the pitiless hand of thoughtless
man
Has never betrayed the frosty timber
stands?
Have you bathed in the mist of a fluffy
cloud,
Grinned intimately at the sun,
Or laughed with the wind
As you felt it singe
Your hands, your face, and your hair?
Have you raced with the wind
As it clung to your sides,
And whispered its gusty sighs?
You are faster than speed
You are lighter than air
You are nothing – and still
The whole sky you fill
With a wondrous and loving stare.
As you zoom, as you zip,
And you slide, and you dip,
Swaying in and out;
And your shoulders shout,
Swing in – swing out.
And with unconscious ease
You are one with the breeze.
You are one with the snow,
With the slope
With the wind and
With all Eternity;
With the world,
With God,
In a feeling that’s awed
On a wonderful, heavenly,
Pair of Skis.
