Tom DiPasquale of Black Hawk established Raceway Electric in 2008, and is in the process of reopening it right now.
“I am just reopening my company and trying to get some work flowing, which has been slow due to lack of marketing and time of year.” DiPasquale is a Master Electrician with 30 years experience. He is a licensed and insured electrical contractor.
“I spent my first four years going through schooling including my hands-on apprenticeship program,” DiPasquale tells us. “Then in 2001 I tested out as a Journeyman electrician, where I got the opportunity as a lead Foreman to work on and build some really cool commercial projects in Colorado.” He worked on major projects like the Pepsi Center, the Bronco stadium, NOAA in Boulder, the Golden Justice Center (the “Taj Mahal”), multiple high rises in Denver, and other restaurants, hospitals and industrial plants.
In 2008, DiPasquale decided to go back into training to obtain his Masters license and start his own business. “Well, we all remember what happened to the economy in 2008,” he said. “My dream of starting my own company was quickly crushed as there was no work for a brand new company.”
As a result, he had to go back to work for an established reputable electrical company. “It was there that I was promoted into a management position where I got to learn the business side of things by working as a Pre-Construction Manager, an Estimator, a Project Manager, and a General Manager for a couple of commercial electrical companies.”
Then 2020 hit! Covid brought another hiatus to the construction industries, “and then the downsizing and layoffs started to all the management positions that they felt were no longer needed. It was then and there that I decided I would not let anyone else control my future and Raceway Electric was reopened.”
He is proud of his experience and the quality of the work he does. He told The Mountain-Ear that the favorite part of what he does now is “working with my hands and helping locals with their electrical needs…. I am very happy to be living in and serving the front range community and excited to see where this business adventure and what this company dream has in store for the future!”
His customers love him right back. One review of his work says: “We had a great experience with Raceway Electric. They wired our basement including overhead lighting, plugs and switches, and an exterior main panel plus underground feed. We were very happy with Raceway as they started the job on time and finished on time and there were no other charges to their original bid.” You really can’t ask for more than that in terms of reliability and responsibility.
Raceway provides electrical construction and services to the Peak to Peak region: Allenspark, Ferncliff, Lyons, Jamestown, Gold Hill, Ward, Nederland, Pinecliffe, Rollinsville, Coal Creek Canyon, mid-Gilpin, Black Hawk, Central City, Idaho Springs, and other mountain communities across the foothills. DiPasquale will also provide online estimates for his work.
