NEDERLAND/ESTES PARK — On Tuesday, March 31, Paramount Global announced comedy writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone as the writer-director team for an upcoming musical film based on the Frozen Dead Guy Days festival. This will mark the first mainstream film portraying the festival.
Parker and Stone, best known as the creators of the hit television show South Park, pitched this project as a fun return to their filmmaking roots. As CU Boulder students, they made their debut feature, Cannibal! The Musical, a take on the story of Alfred "Alferd" Packer.
Few details are known about the film, but in a social media post celebrating the announcement, the duo promised to deliver their signature humor in a crude yet loving tribute to a small town tradition and the legend of Grandpa Bredo.
