Two years ago on Eldora Mountain Resort opening day, the snow came down in sheets, covering the trails and the parking lot and the hats of the parking crew. This year, with record breaking heat, the EMR snowmakers have been struggling to make enough snow to cover just one trail, but it hasn't happened. Opening day, which was supposed to be this Friday has been postponed until temperatures drop enough to be ideal for snowmaking. Eldora follows most of the other Colorado ski resorts who are delaying their opening due to the record-breaking temperatures in the mid 70s.
