Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. As of Monday, the NedRink ice is ready to go but rink managers are waiting to get their liability insurance reinstated. For the past couple of weeks, the staff has been flooding the rink whenever temperatures were cold enough and a couple more layers will complete the job.
The goal to open had been for last weekend but a glitch in the insurance delayed that deadline. Rink administrators say skaters should check the website to make sure the paperwork has been done and the rink is open at contact@nedrink.org
Open recreation and figure skating will begin most days at 12:30 and will be open on Christmas day and Saturday and Sunday from 2:15 - 3:45.
