Nederland Police Reports - 25-09


The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office had 282 calls for service in Nederland for the month of September.  The calls for service included 7 animal complaints, 2 alarms, 5 suspicious activity, 19 fire/medical assists, 8 trespassing complaints, 12 welfare checks, 6 disturbances, 4 domestic violence, 3 harassments, 1  assault, 1 noise complaint, 1 narcotics violation, 2 child issues, and 1 fraud. 


Including the calls for service, deputies conducted approximately 210 traffic stops, responded to 16 assists, and 5 property damage/injury accidents. Not including the accidents, deputies issued  approximately 151 citations and 12 written warnings. 


At the request of one of the Trustees, the attached graph will show Time of Calls for Service. The time is represented using the 24-hour clock. If a time is not present, it means there were no calls for service  in that hour for this month. 


Calls of Note: 


Recovered Firearm / Possession of Unserialized Firearm 

A 22yo male and friend were fishing when they spotted a pistol in waist deep water. A dry suit was  borrowed from Ned Fire and deputies were able to retrieve it. The pistol had the serial number milled  away and some rust. Detectives notified. 


Exchange of Private Image by Juvenile 

A female student in Ned received an unsolicited pornographic picture from a known male outside of  school hours. More follow up due to inconsistencies in the stories. 


Sex Assault 

A 12yo female reported a 14yo male sexually assaulted her at his residence. Minimal facts interview and  further investigation will follow.


Urinating in Public 

Videos on TikTok were reported that showed a male recording himself urinating on various things in  Nederland at night. Follow up with property managers for surveillance video. 


Third Degree Assault / Domestic Violence 

A 51yo male called dispatch about a physical argument with his 36yo girlfriend. The male had scratches  and bruising on his face. She was booked and lodged at the jail. 


Disorderly conduct / Theft 

A 43yo female and her 16yo daughter were accused of stealing by the store owner. They may have been  shoved outside the store. No stolen items were found on them. More follow up of camera footage, list of stolen items, and a written statement from the store owner. 


Fictitious Plates 

A 40yo driver was stopped for no front plate and improper placement of his validation stickers. The driver  admitted he had attached a plate which belonged to another vehicle of his because he couldn't get it  registered. He also had a revoked license. Plate removed and proof of service issued.  


Illegal Camping  

An anonymous person reported a tent/campsite on the west side North Beaver Creek and Middle Boulder  Creek in Nederland. The tent was flagged with yellow tape and business cards left taped on it. No contact was made but whomever was camping got the hint, cleared up, and left. 


Harassment 

A 51yo female has been harassing town employees about her property even though it is a civil issue. She was trespassed from Town Hall and was issued a summons. 


Welfare Check 

A friend requested for a 60yo female to be checked on due to a recent loss in her family. The female was  contacted and appeared heavily intoxicated. A medical check was completed, and she requested to go to the hospital.


Disturbance 

A 60yo male caused a disturbance at the farmer’s market. He was trespassed. 


Trespassing / Warrant 

A 31yo male trespassed the Black Forest building, sleeping and cooking food with a fire close to the  building. The male was contacted and booked and lodged at the jail for an outstanding warrant. 


Dog at Large 

A 60yo male was issued a summons for the above x4. 


Welfare Check 

A 27yo male requested for his 27yo ex-girlfriend to be checked on due to a picture of suicide that was  sent to him. She was fine, it appeared he made a false claim due to a recent breakup. She is seeking a  protection order. 


Property Damage Accident 

A Frito Lays' truck driver backed into a parked car causing little damage. 


Speeding 

A driver was issued a summons to court for driving 72mph in a 25mph zone. 


Dog welfare check 

Two dogs were reported to be stressed looking inside a car. The owner was contacted and in consultation  with APO it was determined that temperatures were reasonable.  


Dog at Large x2 / Horse welfare check 

A reporting party located two loose dogs and the owner was located. While on the property a deputy  observed 4 very thin horses in small pens with manure & rocks, limited hay/water. The owner admitted  they were thin and was working on it. APO to follow up with any charges.


Domestic Dispute 

A 37yo male and female called after a verbal argument. They both agreed to part ways tonight and keep  things civil. 


Fictitious Sticker / Warrant Arrest 

The driver was stopped for no front plate and expired rear plate. The sticker on the plate was fictitious. The vehicle hasn't been registered since 2022. He was summonsed for traffic charges and booked and lodged on an outstanding warrant. 


Domestic Violence / Felony Menacing / Attempted Assault / Harassment / Child Abuse / Obstruction / Criminal Tampering / Criminal Mischief 

Dayshift deputies had to return to the location of a domestic dispute from last night as it became physical.  The 37yo female and child ran to a neighbor’s house to call for help. The 37yo male barricaded but  eventually surrendered. He was booked and lodged at the jail. 


Suspicious 

Two 20yo females met two guys on Snapchat. They were picked up in Superior and were told they would  drive to Flagstaff. With the two guys' strange behavior and finding out they were in Boulder Canyon, they became suspicious. When they demanded to be let out, they were left at the Nederland roundabout. 


Disturbance 

A known 34yo female with mental health issues was yelling incoherently outside the Market. She was  contacted and agreed to keep it down. She refuses assistance from Co-Responder.
