Tierro Band consists of a wide-ranging group of individuals, including Tierro Lee, Bridget Law, Lee Gabriel, Larry Thompson, Charlie Parker Mertens, Jonny Jyemo, Nabin Shrestha, and Kym Breanne. According to the band’s website, Lee has been working in the music industry for over 30 years, founding and producing the rock band Kan’Nal and touring as lead guitarist with Otis Taylor. He founded the band as a trio, and Lee later met Law, a founding member of Elephant Revival. They started playing music together and fell in love, and she joined the band soon afterward.

Their self-titled debut album was released in 2019, and their sophomore album Everlasting Dance was released in 2023. Throughout that time, the band expanded to include more members, including Nepalese tabla player Shrestha. Law claims she is influenced by Western fiddle, bluegrass, and Celtic music, and she adds that Lee is influenced by Arabian and Latin music scales. Mertens says that he loves to bring in whatever cultural nuances he can to his playing. Shrestha is classically influenced, and Thompson has a wide background in blues.

The band primarily plays original instrumental music, although they occasionally add vocals with Gabriel and movement with Breanne. Law loves being a part of a group as versatile as Tierro is, with such an expansive repertoire of musical backgrounds. She loves that any person could take the lead at any time and captivate the audience just as much as any other member of the band. She feels liberated playing with such high-quality musicians, and she hopes that audience members can find a way to meditate and lose themselves in the moment with their music.
