Dear Editor,

Honest, ethical, intelligent and hardworking. These are all characteristics that we all want in our political leaders. Marie Mornis has all of these qualities and more. In the past 30 some years that I’ve known Marie, she is a thoughtful and compassionate person who stands on her principles but is open to others ideas and concerns.

Marie’s rational approach to Gilpin County issues is exactly what we need. Fiscal restraint that will keep our taxes low and control our ever-growing County Government, but at the same time, support our law enforcement, public works departments and focus on the County infrastructure.

Commissioner Mornis has been fighting for the people of Gilpin against a “Tax and Spend” county government. With the rising cost of inflation, interest rates and the day-to-day cost of necessities, Marie will fight to keep your money in your pockets, not the County’s. The current majority of our County leadership is convinced that they can spend your money better than you can. Please re-elect Marie Mornis as District 1, Gilpin County Commissioner in both the primary and election.
