Legendary Medicine: A whole health experience

Posted

Eileen Teller learned from her own experience seeking for a healthier, pain- free life that wellness comes with a multi- modality approach. Her personal journey through disease and a quest for health guided her to the practice she created with the Healing Arts Studio. She also has a deep desire to help others learn that they can be well and feel fulfilled. In April of 2019 she started her practice.

The path Teller has followed is a personal one due to the challenging history of debilitating health conditions she has experienced. Acupuncture provides something beyond physical relief, it creates a feeling of finally being authentically at home for her.

This acupuncturist’s heartfelt connection comes naturally as she is a native of the Rocky Mountains and is first and foremost a lover of the nature and inherent wisdom that comes from this wild place. A degree in anthropology from Fort Lewis College led to an understanding of human nature for Teller.

For ten years, she served as both director and educator for early childhood educational programs. While working with children and families, she realized a desire to be of assistance at the deepest level of our human experience. This led her to train in a medicine that can heal and transform our body, mind and spirit like no other, acupuncture. Her belief is that this medicine will lead us to our strongest and truest selves.

Acupuncture is the modality that stands out on its own but Teller combines this with others. Her wellness work includes acupuncture and cupping, wellness coaching, Gua Sha, moxibustion, diet therapy, heat therapy and electrical stimulation.

Teller loves being a part of the Nederland community and feels that she can facilitate and support community resilience through her work. As she focuses on the health of everyone that comes in for treatment, she is helping create a whole community one person at a time.

Patients seek Teller’s teaching and healing, coming from the Peak to Peak area and beyond. They travel from Loveland, Berthoud, Thornton and other places as well.

The Nederland Healing Arts Studio offers a sanctuary of healing as a partnership between Teller and Legendary Medicine, Danielle Crouse and DMC Artwork, and Amanda Brown who works with Progressive Release Myotherapy which includes massage and bodywork. All three practitioners combine to offer healing through their practice to reach physical, mental and emotional wellness.

Teller strives to keep her life slowed down to maintain a flow. The wheels in her head sometimes cause her to think too fast but she feels the universe has been kind to show her more can be accomplished if we keep it steady and has given her the gift of a thriving practice that brings richness to life.

Inspiration for the work that she loves to do came through Teller’s travels in China. She developed a love for Complementary Medicine and its modalities. Her desire to give to others led her to connect one on one to help people feel their best and enable them to participate in improving the health of the world, at large.

Teller is a solo practitioner who has participated in a four-year acupuncture degree combined with hundreds of hours in clinic. Her dream is that one day the Nederland Healing Arts Studio will have multiple treatment rooms to facilitate the housing of many of Nederland’s amazing bodyworkers. She feels there is a wealth of talent in this small mountain town.

For Teller, herself, and the community that she serves, she finds that life is a quest for health, harmony and security in each person being themselves, just as they are. In gratitude, she is committed to assisting others on their own paths of wellness, to uncover the deeply rooted beauty of this experience of self-revelation and being human.

Teller’s classical acupuncture training came from the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture in Louisville, Colorado, as a Five-Element Acupuncturist. She is certified in Colorado by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture an Oriental Medicine.
