PEAK TO PEAK - Meet Steve Olson and Marilee Bryant, owners of TopGun Handyman Services LLC.
In 2018, Olson was laid off from a job where he had worked for 19 years. He decided to take some time off. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit just as Olson started looking for a job. It was a challenge Olson was not expecting, making it the job hunt more difficult. So, on January 1, 2022, TopGun was born.
“I have been fixing, modifying, building things my whole life. I have owned my home for over 20 years and have done my own repairs and improvements. I figured I might as well start my own business doing what I have been doing my whole life for friends and family for free!” says Olson.
For 25 years, Olson worked in IT, specifically hardware, software, networking, and servers; on PCs and Macs. He also specialized in smartphone and tablet repairs. He confesses he can “pretty much fix, make, build just about anything.”
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling are also part of Olson’s specialty, including large appliance repair. Other skills include:

Interior and exterior house painting

Drywall
Rough and finish framing/carpentry

But it doesn’t end there. Olson says he can “pretty much repair anything mechanical,” including “Motorcycles! I have done my own wrenching on motorcycles since I was 16.” Olson adds that he can weld and fabricate steel, which he learned while building ships.
What makes TopGun Handyman Services stand out is Olson’s honesty. He confesses that his wife thinks he’s too honest, admitting, “Sorry, that is me! If I can't do this up here honestly, I will not do it.”
TopGun Handyman provides services within 20 miles or 45 minutes of Nederland, including Boulder Canyon, and along the Peak to Peak region.
