Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Gallery: A showcase for local artists

Posted

A town like Nederland, with all its talented artists and crafters, can never have too many art galleries. One of the newest, just since last December, is the Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Gallery, owned and operated by a relatively new mountain resident, Roz Bagtaz.

Originally from New Zealand, but with residency in the US for 30 years, Bagtaz is impressed by the skills of our mountain folks. “My inspiration for the business is all the amazingly talented artists that live in this area. When I moved up here full time and was trying to figure out what to do without having to drive down the canyon in the winter, I thought Nederland could use a really nice gallery! I have no business background, so it has been a real learning experience, but I’m enjoying it,” Bagtaz tells The Mountain-Ear.

The new gallery features close to 30 local artists, mostly from the Peak to Peak area, with a few from elsewhere on the Front Range. Bagtaz announces that “We hope to start offering some art classes and demonstrations from the resident artists soon.”

Of critical importance to the community, Bagtaz took over two printers from the recently-closed Business Connection, and is pleased to offer printing and copying services. “My business partner for the printing side of things is Danielle Crouse of DMC Artwork LLC,” Bagtaz says, “and she will be primarily handling the printing. Danielle will be working on Mondays at the gallery and available at that time for walk-in print jobs. Printing jobs can also be submitted by email at printingatthegallery@gmail.com, or we have a computer workstation with Adobe Creative Suite available for public use.”

The printing and copying are a side operation of the business. Bagtaz emphasizes that “we are focusing on primarily local artists and providing them a beautiful space to display their art…. My favorite part of owning the gallery so far is meeting all the artists that I am working with, and also just chatting with people who come into the gallery and talking about the art. Being newer to the community, I have enjoyed meeting people!”

Currently focused on the Peak to Peak area, the Gallery hopes to reach more people through its website.

You will find the Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Gallery at 20 Lakeview Drive, Suite 210, Nederland. That all-important website is www.kaleidoscope-finearts.com, and you can also find the Gallery on Facebook at KaleidoscopeFineArts and on Instagram at kaleidoscope_ fine_ arts. You can reach Bagtaz by phone at 303.949.3590.
