Dear Editor,

Everyone is invited to a food drive at the Very Nice Brewery in Gilpin County. We will be collecting much-needed donations and celebrating our generous and caring community. There will be a band and snacks to enjoy. With your donation, you will receive a ticket for door prizes.

Please join us. No donation is too small or too large. Items we can always use are tuna fish and other canned meats, soup, peanut butter, rice, instant potatoes, canned fruit and spaghetti  sauce. Personal care items are also always appreciated: toilet paper, shampoo, shaving cream, lotion, dish soap.

This event is being put on by the dedicated volunteers of the Gilpin County Food Pantry. The pantry is successful because of all the caring volunteers that give of themselves. I have always been impressed by the response of  the Gilpin County community when there is a need to be filled.
